Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. President Kiir has released both the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs and the Minister of Interior. 


Namely, The relieved High Ranking officials are, Angelina Teny who is the wife of SPLM-IO Leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny and the Minister Of Defence and Veteran Affairs. 


Angelina Jany Teny is a South Sudanese politician who served as Minister of Defence since March 2020. She was previously a state minister of Energy and Mining in the Khartoum-based Government of National Unity between 2005 and 2010. 


Mohamoud Solomon Agok is the current interior Minister. Why sack him, last at least 56 people have been shot dead 35 wounded and other two children abducted after armed Murle youth from greater Pibor Administrative Area stormed Baidit an area in Jonglei State.


President Kiir also issued a similar decree switching the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs to the SPLM and the Ministry of Interior to the SPLM-IO.

Girl In Yirol Beaten To Death For Refusing To Marry

Yirol people today and South Sudan at large are saddened by the news of a 20 year old girl who was beaten to death for refusing to marry a suitor that had been arranged by the parents.   Taban Abel, Minister of Information in Eastern Lakes, told Radio Tamazuj Friday parents forced the girl to marry a man who offered 40 cows to the family as dowry. The State Information Minister Mr Taban Abel confirmed that the parents of the deceased girl forced her to marry a man who tabled an offer 50 cows as a dowry to the family.   After the girl rejected the suitor this forced his own brothers to beat him as a form of disciplining.   In his own words he said that “The father was one who ordered people to kill his daughter because she refused to get married. Eight (8) SSPDF Soldiers Killed In An Ambush In Gok State

Eight (8) South Sudan People Defense Force have been killed in an ambush attack by the youths of Gok State.   Hon. John Madol State Minister of Information said that the State Authorities dispatched 26 soldiers to retried some cattle as a compensation for a man that was recently murdered in the area. Here is the full statement of Hon. Madol “What happened was that on the 31st of August 2019 about 26 soldiers from South Sudan Defense Forces were authorized to go and bring cattle for compensation of a person who has been killed earlier in Gok State. So when the forces went under the directives of the commanding officer, they fell into an ambush of the cattle keeper’s armed youth.” So in total the people killed are ten which means eight from the SSPDF and two from the armed youths.  More to come shortly....
