Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Prostitution is on the rise in Torit State. Mostly the young girls practicing the act said that they had no option since life is hard. They need to feed and also their families nerd to feed. Eight (8) SSPDF Soldiers Killed In An Ambush In Gok State

Eight (8) South Sudan People Defense Force have been killed in an ambush attack by the youths of Gok State.   Hon. John Madol State Minister of Information said that the State Authorities dispatched 26 soldiers to retried some cattle as a compensation for a man that was recently murdered in the area. Here is the full statement of Hon. Madol “What happened was that on the 31st of August 2019 about 26 soldiers from South Sudan Defense Forces were authorized to go and bring cattle for compensation of a person who has been killed earlier in Gok State. So when the forces went under the directives of the commanding officer, they fell into an ambush of the cattle keeper’s armed youth.” So in total the people killed are ten which means eight from the SSPDF and two from the armed youths.  More to come shortly.... 

Pregnant Woman And A Mother Of Six Children Raped Multiple Times In Lakes State

Lakes State again today witnessed another rape case incident involving a pregnant woman and a mother of six children.   The incident occurred separately in Neemthok and Adol Village of the Eastern Bar El Naam County.   The pregnant woman was raped at gunpoint by unknown gunmen in Adol and the woman is nineteen years old.  In another separate incident a mother of six children was also raped multiple times in the village if Neemthok.     Major Machol Makoi who is the crime inspector in the County said that the identity of the suspects are known to the authority.  The Major further said that the notorious gunmen also did clash with government forces just last week and the government ensures the victims that justice will be serve soon.   More to come shortly.... 

Appreciate President Salva Kiir For Accepting The Revitalized Peace Agreement

  South Sudanese are advised to appreciate President Kiir efforts for accepting peace with the opposition groups. Dr. Riek Machar Hires Janjaweed As His Bodyguards

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting. Dr. Riek Machar served as inaugural Vice President from 2011 until his dismissal in 2013 and also between April and July 2016 as first vice president.  More to follow shortly....

President Salva Kiir Visits Museveni To Inform Him Of The Revitalized Peace Agreement Process

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received President Salva Kiir Mayardit at the State House in Entebbe on Saturday. President Salva Kiir who is in Uganda for a one day working visit on the invitation of President Kaguta Museveni held bilateral talks with his Ugandan counterpart and the progress on the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement. Minister in the office of the President, Mayiik Ayii Deng and Director General of external security Thomas Duoth accompanied President Salva Kiir to Entebbe Uganda where he was highly received by Uganda senior government officials. The Minister in the office of the President, Mayiik Ayii Deng said, President Salva Kiir brief President Museveni on the progress for the implementation of the peace deal especially on the formation of the national army. Angelo Taban the Wau State Governor visits Tonj State to discuss the peace implementation and resolution.  Wau State Governor met with his counterparts from Tonj and Gogrial State.   Wau State Governor was also accompanied with some of his State Ministers and also his security details.   His main mission of travelling to Tonj State was to discuss ways of dissemination of the agreed 23 recommendations that was earlier discussed in the previous meeting.     The three Governors held the meeting in Pakadit Tonj State.   More to follow shortly.... 

Finance Minister Fires Head Of National Revenue Authority

Salvatore Garang Mabiordit, the Minister of Finance has fired Dr. Olympio Attipoe the Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority. In Ministerial Order 08/2019 issued today, Mr. Salvatore said the Deputy Commissioner General will act in the lead role. No reasons were given for termination of Dr. Olympio’s services. Dr. Olympio recently fell out with senior government officials after he distanced the National Revenue Authority away from a scam approved by the Minister of Finance. The fraudulent business scheme was engineered by head of Traders’ Union Ayii Duang in which all businesses in South Sudan would have been required to register. Foreign businesses were to register with $100 USD and locals with 10,000 SSP. Ayii was to collect the money. Finance Committee Plans To Purchase A Private Jet For President Kiir

The Finance and Economic Planning Committee of the National Legislative Assembly has proposed that South Sudan should buy a presidential jet to be used by the President, the vice-presidents and senior members of the executive. President Salva Kiir Will Not Attend Attend The Meeting In Addis Ababa

South Sudan National Minister Of Information said that President Kiir will not attend the meeting next week because the meeting does not include president Kiir.   IGAD invited all the signatories of the revitalized peace agreement in order to discuss challenges affecting the peace agreement.   Hon. Makuei Lueth said that “the meeting will take place in Addis Ababa on 21 August. The parties have been asked to send three representatives each for a consultative meeting, so the meeting does not include the president.”  The Information Minister also refused to disclose the names of the officials that will president the government.   He also added that the president is committed to re-unite the country again and will not jeopardize it.   Only few months left before the transitional government to be formed but some issues remain unsolved.   Issues like: forming a unified army, and the exact number of states.   More to come shortly...

A passenger vehicle overturned on Luri Bridge living four dead and five others missing, the vehicle was a passenger vehicle.   Read also:  Meet Nareh Napirah South Sudanese Musician Based In Abroad His Plans For Junub Sudan The vehicle overturned while trying to cross the already overflowing river at around 8pm confirmed Luri County Commissioner.   “Four bodies were recovered, but five people are still missing, 12 passengers survived.”  Luri County Commissioner also said that “At the moment, the vehicle is still floating in the river where we are waiting for a crane from Juba to pull it out.” Luri river has been known for killing many civilians just some months ago two people died in the river.   The big question is what happened to the six million pounds that was meant for the rehabilitation of the bridge? Kalonzo Musyoka Kenya's special envoy to South Sudan arrived in Juba to monitor and push for the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.   South Sudan Presidential spokesperson said that Kalonzo met with South Sudan President and other senior government officials to look into the progress of the peace agreement.  President Salva Kiir Press office said that “the intention of his consultative meeting with the stakeholders and signatories to the revitalized peace agreement is to ensure that by the 12th of November 2019, all the arrangements will be in place for the formation of the transitional government of national unity.”  Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya to facilitate the implementation of the peace agreement.

The President met with the business investors from Canada and the United States in a meeting attended by a number of national ministers at the state house on Thursday. The chairman of CVMR corporation Kamran M khozan  appreciated President Salva Kiir for creating a condusive and friendly environment for investors to come and invest in South Sudan. Bor - Juba Highway: Two Killed and Another Critically injured

Local officials confirmed that two civilians killed and another seriously injured during an ambush attack along Juba-Bor highway. Government forces are planning a major offensive against our forces in central Equatoria region, claim the National Salvation Front (NAS).  NAS Spokesman Suba Manase said that “According to the NAS military intelligence, the SSPDF [South Sudan People’s Defense Force] is planning to attack NAS positions in the three (3) axis of Jebel Lado and Terekeka on the western bank of the Nile and Mangalla on the eastern bank.”  NAS spokesman further said that they will defend their territory if the government decide to attack them. Fake Medical Doctor In Jail For Killing A Patient

A quack medical doctor is now under police custody following the death of one of his patients.   The medical doctor works for one of the private clinic in Rumbek. The clinic is also known as Life Care.   The deceased patient known as Last Marial died as a result of medical complications after being issued drugs from the private clinic.   Rumbek Inspector of police Lt. Deng Manual said that the doctor is now under police custody after administering drugs to the deceased patient on 1st August 2019.  The quack medical doctor known as Abiaza Jimmy is awaiting legal procedures from the relatives of the deceased patient.     The public is now being cautioned not to rush to private clinic to buy drugs before going to the civil hospitals first.   More to follow shortly.... 

South Sudan National Police Signed A Bilateral Agreement With Sudan Police Force

The  South Sudan National Police  (SSNPS) signed a bilateral agreement with Sudan Police Force. In a ceremony held at the South Sudan Ministry of Interior headquarters in the capital Juba today. The two countries reached joint recommendations in the agreement including Visa on Arrival at the Airports and all points of entries to both citizen of two sisterly countries, opening of the borders ,exchange of security information on the organized and transnational crimes, capacity building,training, cooperation and border management and joint security investigation, strengthen surveillance patrol at the borders , control illegal movement of people at the existing border crossing points, monitoring teams, sharing and transfer of experience, coordination and enhancing the provision of logistical support as much as possible. Two Teachers Arrested For Stealing Over 1.5 Million SSP Teacher's Incentive

Two teachers of Ngath Secondary School are in police custody accused of taking teachers’ incentives totaling to one million and eight thouand on Saturday. Director-General of the Ministry of Education Agolder Alfred Mathok confirmed the arrest of the teachers. He says the ministry gave out the teachers’ incentives and Ngath Secondary School was allocated one million and eighty thousand South Sudanese Pounds. Gok State Assembly Removed Its Speaker

Gok State Speaker has been relived from his duties by God State Assembly.  The speaker known as Veronica Umjuma Philip  was dismissed after the state members of parliament passed a decision to sack him  on 30-June-2019. Sixteen Members of Gok State Assembly raised the motion for the removal of the speaker immediately.  The motion was raised when the speaker posted sensitive information regarding Gok State to the Social Media and this triggered the move to sack her. South Sudan Joint Defense Board (JDB) Unable To Explain Why Government Soldiers Are Still Occupying Civil Buildings

SPLM-IO: Lack Of Food And Essential Items May Delay Assembly Of -IO Forces At Cantonment Sites

The Deputy Spokesperson of the SPLA-IO says a lack of food and essential items may delay the assembly of opposition forces at cantonment sites beyond the July 31st deadline.  Colonel Lam Paul Gabriel says the SPLA-IO has been working to meet tomorrow’s deadline but are finding it increasingly difficult without the basic services.  The Joint Transitional Security Committee instructed government and opposition forces to assemble at their barracks and cantonment sites by July 31st. Col Gabriel says the process will be fast-tracked when expected consignments of food are delivered in the coming days.  More to follow shortly....

South Sudan President Salva Kiir To Meet SPLM-IO Leader Dr. Riek Machar In Addis Ababa

South Sudan President Office confirmed that President Salva Kiir will meet SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar next week in order to push the current peace process.   Ateny Wek Ateny the President's Spokesman said that the two leaders will meet one on one to sort out the critical pending tasks in the peace process.   The Spokesman also said that the meeting will be facilitated by the IGAD “The initiative came from the mediators so that the transitional government is formed in November.”  Dr. Riek Machar SPLM-IO Team is yet to comment nor Intergovernmental Authority on Development on this progress by South Sudan government.   More to come shortly...  

South Sudan Lawyer: If President Kiir Bans South Sudan National Anthem Let Him Ban South Sudan Flag Too

One of the South Sudanese lawyers said that President Salva Kiir should also ban The South Sudanese flag which can be seen everywhere in the country.   The anonymous lawyer also responded to South Sudan Information Minister remarks in which Hon. Makuei said only embassies and schools will the national anthem be allowed.   In his own words the anonymous lawyer said that  “If he [President Kiir] wants to ban the national anthem from being sung in his absence, let him ban all the flags from wherever they are. Western Lakes State Governor Sacked The State Information Minster

The Newly appointment Western Lakes State Governor sacked the information Minister Hon. Majak Isaac Ror.   Governor Mahmud Solomon Deer gave no reason for the dismissal of the Information Minister and did not even replace the minister.     Hon. Mahmud Solomon Deer also did some reshuffling in his cabinet by appointing the former Youth and Sports as the new Deputy governor of Western Lakes State.  He also replaced the Youth and Sports Minister by appointing Zachariah Ater as the new Youth and Sports Minister.     More to come shortly....

South Sudan Bank decided to introduce a Whistle Blowing Policy for accountability and transparency in the country.  Dier Tong Ngor Chairman of the bank and also the Governor of the Bank said that the whistle blowing policy will act on ethical behavior and commitment of its staff.     “We think it will bring even more improvement because we will give our employees the right to report malpractices. We are now giving employees protection that they can report issues like that so that they are addressed. So if one of the employees report that a wrong doing is committed by certain staff, then we will apply the rules that we have here. It can even go beyond our rules. If somebody is committing a crime, then you will go beyond the bank. It can go to the court. So that is the impact of our policy. So we want to be more transparent as a Bank because we have to be transparent and accountable.” South Sudan Bank Governor also assured to improve on the welfare of its staffs.   “

South Sudan Council Of Ministers Asked South Sudanese To Respect President Kiir Oder Which Bans Singing The National Anthem In His Absence.

The public is asked to observe a Presidential order banning the singing of the national anthem in the absence of the President. The council of ministers in its regular sitting on Friday resolved that the anthem is only meant for functions attended by the President “This should be strictly observed because it is not meant for everybody,” government spokesperson Michael Makuei told journalists after the meeting in Juba on Friday.  Makuei said there was a tendency for the national song to be ‘misused’ and sang at functions presided over by ministers, undersecretaries and governors. The cabinet meeting also endorsed a Presidential directive banning the military from engaging in politics. Government spokesperson Makuei says all commanders in their respective forces should not speak at public rallies. “They have the choice to either to leave the uniform and go to the public and be a politician and be free to talk in public rallies, or else be a disciplined soldier,” Makuei clar

Tonj State: Seventeen (17) Year Old Boy Raped A Nine (9) Year Old Girl

A nine (9) year old girl was raped by a seventeen (17) year old boy in Manyangok-Ngok as Tonj State Police Investigator confirms the incident.   Investigator Deng Mabior said that he was informed of the incident by the police officers from Manyangok police station.   The boy is still under police custody and he is undergoing investigation after the investigation he will be taken to the court.    The alleged boy has accepted the incident but insisted that it was an agreement between the two of them. Bank Of South Sudan: South Sudan Pounds Is Showing Sign Of Economic Recovery

The Bank of South Sudan is reporting signs of economic recovery since the signing of the revitalized peace agreement and launch of various infrastructure projects. Addressing journalists in Juba, bank governor and chairman of Board of Directors, Dier Tong Ngor said an upcoming power project and the launch of the fibre optic network have contributed to the recovery. Dier Tong Ngor says the bank projects Gross Domestic Products or GDP to increase from previous negative digits to 5% by the end of 2019. The Bank of South Sudan concluded a 3-day Board of Directors meeting today in Juba. South Sudanese Pound was officially introduced before secession on 9th Joly 2011 and it is the official currency of South Sudan.  More to follow shortly...
