Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Three National Ministers, accompanying President Kiir during his visit to Aweil survived a road carnage in Aroyo Aweil.

National Ministers involved in the road accident namely are: Rizik Zakariah Has; Minister of Wildlife, Conservation and Tourism, Madut Biar; Minister of Transport, Nadia Arop Dudi; Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage


The full details and the cause of the accident are still not clear, and other top Government Officials were also injured. 


Northern Bahr El Gazal State Minister of Information Hon. William Manyuon confirmed the incident saying that the other officials sustained only minor injuries. 


“They are fine. They have been airlifted from Aweil to Juba, with minor injuries.” William said
