South Sudan To Make Maiden Appearance At The African Beach Games In June

For the first time South Sudan will make it's appearance at the  African Beach Games in june 2023. 


 ​The Championship will be conducted in Hammamet Tunisia, Hammamet is a well-known holiday resort in northern Tunisia. Apart from the beautiful, endlessly long sandy beach, there is a lot to discover in the medina (old town) of Hammamet and the surrounding area. 


South Sudan National Olympic Committee "SSNOC" confirmed and said they will select a strong team to represent the nation..


"SSNOC" board member Dr. Agum Rin Mabeny Adut said that South Sudan team will participate in Five Support Disciplines


The five sport disciplines namely are: football, volleyball, netball, handball, take-ball and basketball 3×3. 


“The Beach Games isn’t a small competition, so nothing should be taken for granted,” Adut said.


“The federations must ensure that they are sending a team that will represent the country and not merely participate in the games.” Adut said. 


She further said that Egypt will host the South Sudanese team for two weeks Camp In Cairo ahead of the championship. 


The African Beach Games is a continental multi-sport event held among athletes from the Africa. The Games are organised under the governance of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
