Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Sudan Government Offers Partial Scholarship To South Sudanese Students

University Of Khartoum Sudan  Kartoum government has offered partial scholarship opportunities to our South Sudanese students. The Sudan Cultural and Education Attachét to South Sudan said that eligible students can apply for the scholarship.  The requirements for the scholarship are: full knowledge of Arabic, copy of Sudan or South Sudan secondary certificate.  The circular states that the student should have money for the hostels and food, Sudanese government will not cater for it.  Most of the courses offered are sciences and the application form fees is 6,000 Sudanese Pounds.  

Five Commercial Trucks Loaded With Food Arrived In Gokmachar

Businessmen from Gokmachar managed to bring in Aweil North County five Commercial Trucks fully loaded with food.  Aweil North County Commissioner Mr. vixtorino Ken Akoon said that “the road has not opened officially due to floods in the northern bank of Kiir Adem River. But on Wednesday, five trucks arrived from East Darfur to Gokmachar town, using the Kiir Pal route that is located west of Kiir Adem.”- He was speaking to  Radiotamazuj . Arrival of the commercial trucks has raised hope to the people and they expect the prices of stocks to drop.  One Bol Make who is a member of Aweil North Chamber Of Commerce said: “yes, five trucks have already arrived in Gokmachar, and some are still on the way coming. SSPDF Retakes Gumuruk Town From The White Army

South Sudanese Army has retaken Gumuruk Town in the GPAA from the Jonglei Youths, an army spokesperson has said.  Gumuruk Town was attacked last week by Jonglei Youths leaving more than 50 people dead and countless casualties.  Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai said that  “Our forces regained control over Gumuruk. They entered Gumuruk yesterday [Wednesday 28th December 2022] at 5 in the evening,” said Gen. Lul. Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai further said that “they [SSPDF] have successfully also resisted the white army in their effort to capture LIkuangoli. I was told that all of them the attackers have assembled south of Gumuruk.” GPAA Information Minister Hon. Abraham Kelang said that  “jonglei armed youth have attacked us in Gumuruk, but they still outside the headquarters of Gumuruk, so, they are in Manya-bol Payam,” Kelany said.

  South Sudanese Refugees in Uganda refugees camps are are saying lack of opportunities has forced them to engage in negative activities.  A Ugandan resident Mr. Ronald Milla confirmed this by saying most of the refugees spend their time on gambling and drug abuse because of boredom.  “People are suffering nothing to eat at all and getting money is also a problem also the school fees and everything here things are very difficult,” Milla told Eye Radio on Tuesday. He adds: “There is nothing to do except sleeping, playing cards and gambling because there is no work to do.” Uganda Refugees Camps is the biggest camp in world hosting South Sudanese Refugees following Kenya-Kakuma Refugee Camp. 

Uror County: Three People Have Been Killed In Two Separate Incidents

The Authorities of Jonglei State confirmed that 3 Three people have been confirmed killed in 2 two separate incidents.  Uror County Commissioner Machot Gatluak Kenyjak said that two men were murdered in Tiam Payam while on the next day they murdered another one in Motot Payam by alleged herdmen.  "On Sunday afternoon, two men were killed in a road ambush while heading to the neighboring Duk county. The following day at 10 pm, there was an attack on a cattle camp in Motot Payam in which a herdsman was killed and 220 heads of cattle raided," the commissioner said.  The commissioner was accusing the armed youths from GPAA Greater Pibor Administrative Area. 

Youths From Jonglei Overran Gumuruk Leaving Several People Dead

Local officials said that several people are dead after armed Jonglei Youths Overran Gumuruk town in Greater Pibor Administrative Area.  The never ending violence escalated after the Jonglei Youths attack Bich-Bich area in Greater Pibor.  GPAA information Minister Hon.Abraham Kelang said the battle of Gumuruk town started on Tuesday evening and the clashes is still on going.  “Battles for Gumurk town started on Monday evening, and on Tuesday morning, it resumed at 7 am. In the afternoon, they managed to enter the town. But fighting is still ongoing within Gumuruk town because our youth and SSPDF soldiers are fighting off the attackers within the town,” he said.  Mr. Canaan Lelicho the head of GPAA Youths said that “In the afternoon at 1 pm, the SSPDF started retreating from Gumuruk because they are few in numbers and run out of ammunition. Now, those attackers are in the town, burning villages, even cutting down trees,”- Canaan Lelicho while speaking to Radiotamazuj. 

South Sudan and Sudan To Open All Four Boarder Points

  Tut Gatluak, the Chairperson of the Transitional National Committee, and also Presidential Advisor on Security The four boarder points between Sudan and South Sudan have all been re-opened, President Security Affairs Advisor said.  The four boarder points namely: Renk-Jebelein River Transport, Aweil-Mariam road transport then Panakwach-Bentiu. According to the Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs Mr. Tut Gatluak said that agreement to open the four boarders came after President Kiir and Gen. Mohamed Hamdan The Deputy Chairperson Of Sudan Sovereign Council discussed to open the boarders.  He said that “we took out the peace files of the two countries and we discussed the issue of the borders concerning the two countries, and the committee’s activities are very important,”  He further said that “The borders opened four outlets, the road to Renk – Jebelein, river transport, the road to Aweil – Mariam then Panakwach- Bentiu. Mahamoud Solomon Agook and UNHCR South Sudan Representative Mr. Arafat Jamal visted Makpandu Refugee Camp in Yambio County.  The camp hosts around 20,000 refugees from the DRC Democratic Republic Of Congo, Central Africa Republic, Sudan and many other countries. Minister Solomon said that "I have come to see the refugees who are here, I have visited many refugee camps, but Yambio this my first time to come here to see them and how they coexist with our host communities. And what are the benefits of our local communities from the project of UNHCR because since they are the host communities they need to benefit in terms of education, health, clean drinking water, and so on." For his part, UNHCR's Jamal said as partners they are ready to support refugees across the country. 

The High Court Sentence Prophet Abraham Chol Maketh To Three Years In Jail

The self proclaim prophet Abraham Chol was sentence today to three years in Jail by the High Court.   Judge Simaya Salah when reading the sentence said that Prophet Chol is to serve his three years sentence or pay a fine of 500,000 SSP.  The court granted the defense team 15 days to appeal the judgment.   Abraham Chol was arrested in July 2021. Days before, the cleric had told his congregation during a Sunday service that both President Salva Kiir and his first deputy Riek Machar would be unseated from office on July 9th, the independence anniversary, to make way for new leadership.

  The people of Pariang had been living in darkness for Fifteen 15 years all thanks to the new Chief Administrator Mr. Stephano Wieu. Bobby Longar Found Guilty Of Murdering Wife and Friend

  Mr. Bobby Longar Akok has been convicted today of intentionally murdering his wife and her friend.  Read also:  Gen. Kuol Manyang said that our suffering was prophesized in the bible The two deceased names are: Rebecca Anyon and friend name is Chris. Bor Youths Ambushed By Suspected National Security Unit Near Mangalla

Bor Youths were travelling from Bor to Mangalla to help evaluate the situation in the cattle camp which was attacked on Thursday came under heavy gunfire which was believed to be a coordinated attack.  Read also:  Man Said Bhang Gives Him God Like Strength To Farm. After being arraigned in court a 22 year old man will soon know his fate after being arrested with possession of bhang.  The suspect was arrested on November in Sivile village Bunyala East with a bang worth 20,000 ksh.  While appearing before the Kakamega court, the accused said that Marijuana gives him strength to continue and practice farming.  As he was seeking for leniency from the magistrate the accused said that he was a law abiding citizen who seeks his livelihood through farming.

Former Civil servants Who Worked in the Khartoum government from 1975-2011 are now legible to receive their pensions starting next year on march.  The South Sudan Pension Fund Manager Mr. Jacob Nul said that delegations from Khartoum are now in Juba with the funds too. Four Confirmed Dead As Robbers Attempt To Rob South Sudan Central Bank

The Central Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) Management today earlier said that the attempted robbery was not inside the bank but outside the bank.  Read also:  https://jubawire.blogspot.com/2022/12/south-sudan-president-closes-8th-sspdf.html   “The top management of the Bank of South Sudan said the incident, which occurred this evening was not inside the Bank as reported by some social networks. The incident occurred outside of the Bank and was quelled by the security force. South Sudan President closes the 8th SSPDF Command Council

  Today President Salva Kiir closed the 8th Command Council Conference of the SSPDF under the theme 'SSPDF Building trust, Understanding and Implementing Transitional Security Arrangement. The Command Council deliberated on the key progress of the security of the current security arrangements in the country. President Kiir said that “Let us all avoid going back to war, we are citizens of this country, all of us have a right to live, so let us avoid senseless war. You must stop war since war is destructive but peace brings foreign investors to invest in the country”. In short he said that conflict does not bring developing in the country.  He further insisted on the warring parties to come home and discuss their grievances amicably with the government.  “To some of our brothers who are still in the bush, come back home and join the Government so that we can bring a sustainable peace in our country. I urge you to put down your guns and resume dialogue on peace” He further said that
