Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Response to IGAD Special Envoy – Ismail Wais Jan 19th, 2018 In reference to the above, the SPLM/SPLA (IO) would like to state categorically to the IGAD special envoy, Ismail Wais, that our position regarding the conflict of interest faced by IGAD, has not changed. In light of this conflict of interest, the SPLM/SPLA-IO declines to withdraw any statement. A meeting of IGAD ministers in Ethiopia has decided to release Riek Machar from house arrest in South Africa as soon as possible. The communique said that Riek will be released on a condition that he renounces violence. He shall be allowed to relocate to any country he wants outside the region and not neighbouring South Sudan. SPLM Hopes To Gain Peace In The Coming Round Of Peace Talk

Wau SPLM Information Secretary said that SPLM is struggling to bring peace to the country though peace talks that is being held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in order to realize stability in South Sudan. Mr. Jospeph Ugodo urges South Sudan people to appreciate all good contribution that party had done until the country became independent. The Information Secretary mentions that some individuals blame the SPLM for not doing enough on peace. He urges those pessimistic about the party to see the relative stability people have in their states now. Moses worries that there are some members who want to get to power without following democratic processes. SPLM and IO To Be Held Responsible For The Suffering Of South Sudanese says USAP

United Sudan African Parties or USAP Cairman is accusing SPLM and SPLM-IO to be responsible on the crisis facing the country South Sudan.  This is what he said.    “The crisis is within the SPLM on power struggle, but not all the political parties. All the parties say the warring parties should agree according to the signed 2015 peace agreement. We were so happy after 2015 peace deal because we were going for election in 2018 to solve the issue of position. But they went back to war in July 2016. And these are SPLM. United States Sanctioned South Sudan Oil Sector

The Trump administration has imposed sweeping sanctions on the oil sector in South Sudan. The Bureau of Industry and Security, Commerce added the following fifteen entities to a sanction list: Ascom Sudd Operating Company; Dar Petroleum Operating Company; DietsmannNile; Greater Pioneer Operating Co.Ltd; Juba Petrotech Technical Services Ltd; Nile Delta Petroleum Company; Nile Drilling and Services Company; Nile Petroleum Corporation; Nyakek and Sons; Oranto Petroleum; Safinat Group; SIPET Engineering and Consultancy Services; South Sudan Ministry of Minning; South Sudan Ministry of Petroleum and Sudd Petroleum Operating Co. These entities are reasonably believed to be involved, or to pose a significant risk of being or becoming involved, in activities contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States. Magwi County Evacuates Cattle Herders

Mr. Oringa Geofrey the Press Secretary in the office of the Governor Imatong State discloses that the long awaited evacuation of cattle has started in Magwi Counties to allow indigenous return home and begin new life. The press Secretary says that thousands of the cattle that were initially scatter all over Magwi County is being driven out by the owners and the army is also offering support to the owners in terms of security the cattle are going back to its original State passing through Amee Junction and Ayii. South Sudan Minister of Defense has secretly talk to Jonglei Governor Philip Aguer to appoint his daughter as the state minister of Information and Youth. a case which he disputed angry but most of the South Sudanese are not convince with his bases of argument. “What are they saying and these people who are talking about? South Sudan President Admits The Country Is Broke

Salva Kiir Mayardit the South Sudan President has admitted to the media that the country is broke and has run out of cash and there is nothing that can be done to fix it. But he also suggested that the war must stop in order for the country to start recovering. The south Sudan President gave a small reason to why South Sudan is broke stating that it is because of the war that was sparked by the power struggle and eventually the war dragged on for four years with no resolution despite or the international efforts to salvage the situation. The German High Council to South Sudan today criticizes the alleged abuse in Wau POC site by UNMISS “Ghanian Police.” It is very bad unfortunate criminal act which should not happen again, the donor community, they do not like any kind of scandal involving UN anymore says Mr. Jan Henrik Van Thiel, he further reiterates the importance of good system of monitoring and action to abuses.
