Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. South Sudanese Accused of Laziness Again

A successful Kenyan trader in Torit town is blaming South Sudan nationals over laziness in carrying out businesses to earn living.    An Excerpt taken from radio Emmanuel says that Patrick Njoroge, a Kenyan national, cheers his fellow businessmen and women in Torit to learn how to save for the progress of the their businesses. He started as an off loader in 2007, now works as a dealer in hardware materials in Torit town.   He further encourages traders in Torit to calculate their items based on the current economic situation for prosperity of their businesses. He regrets that absence of peace negatively affects business activities in South Sudan.   The businessman also admits final consumers are mostly affected by the increment of prices of items as a result of crisis. IOM Appeals For 100 Million Dollars Aid For Junub Sudan

International Organization For Migration commonly known as the IOM/OIM in Junub sudan is appealing for one hundred million US dollars to effectively provide humanitarian assistance and support transition, recovery migration management initiatives.  The needs of the humanitarian remain huge as the conditions of he civilians continue to drop and deteriorate with no hope of recovery in Junub Sudan says IOM.   It says an estimated seven million people in South Sudan need relief aid, including 1.9 million internally displaced persons or IDPs.   Sustained levels of lifesaving assistance are crucial as conditions worsen each day, says William Barriga, Chief of Mission.   He says IOM appeal seeks to support approximately one million displaced people, host communities, returnees and migrants in South Sudan. The students studying at Arrupe Center formally known as the UNISA (University of South Africa) has been awarded a Bachelors package from the University of Southern New Hamshire University which will be in two phases. SPLM-IO Press Release

Press Release 28/01/2018 SPLA IO Released 15 POWs in Phow State. The SPLA IO 7th Division infantry combined with SPLA IO GQHS mobile force handed over 15 prisoners of war (POWS) to ICRC today 28/1/2018, at  about 10:00am in Kolopach airstrip, New Fangak, Phow State. 11 POWs refused to go to Juba due to fear of persecution from the regime. The SPLA IO welcomes their decision and gave them the freedom to live among the displaced people in the State. This is the third time the SPLA IO is showing compliance with the COH agreement signed on 21/01/2017 while other partners have not yet complied. SPLM-IO Abducted 10 Civilians

The Opposition group loyal to former Vice President Dr. Riek Machar has abducted from Deim Zuber IDP Camp Three girls and Seven Boys totaling to a number of ten says the SPLM-IO spokesperson. The captives have been taken to unknown place, but the motive behind remains unknown. Brigadier General Lul Ruai Koang says. He further accuses the SPLM-IO of continues attacks in Fashoda and Fangak States in former greater Upper Nile. Nadapal Kapoeta Road Resumes Operation

The Nadapal Kapoeta road has resumed operations fully on Monday after four days of inactivity due to high way robberies by unknown gunmen. Mr. Sam Felix the Namurnyang State Minister of Information confirms that unidentified criminals frequently stop people and NGOs cars and loot their property on the roads. The State government has deployed soldiers to patrol to road in order to ensure safety. The worst incident happened last week on Thursday and Sunday, where NGOs Trucks and other vehicles were looted, threatening road safety, Minister Felix reports. He also accepted that majority of the civil population in Kapoeta own guns in their houses. The Minister warns that continues road robberies will block humanitarian access and business operations in the state. Kakuma Refugee Camp Schools Have Been Closed By Parents

Kakuma Refugee Camp Schools have been closed down by the parents until further notice after LWF the major Organization providing Education to the refugees in the camp has send a circular to all the schools indicating that Head Teachers and Deputy Head teachers to step down so as to make way for Kenyans to be the Head Teachers and Deputy Head teachers. The Parents rebukes the letter in strongest term possible some of the parents said that the schools in the camp used to be ran by the Refugee Since the year 1992 and there has never been a bad incident and the refugees head understand the refugee children. That was the general opinion from the parents. The parents told LWF/UNHCR of what will happen if they continue pushing with their agenda but they never listened so the parents decided to stop their children from going to schools until the voice of the voiceless which is the refugees is heard. All Warring Parties To Comply With The Terms Warns JMEC

Mr. Festus Mogae the JMEC Chairman demands all warring parties to fully respect and comply with the terms of the Agreement on the Ceasefire, protection of Civilians and Humanitarian Access. Mr. Mogae Said that “CTSAMM will continue to monitor the Permanent Ceasefire and the most recent Cessation of Hostilities Agreement to the best of its ability and with total impartiality.” He adds that CTSAMM will also continue to report any verified violations of the ceasefire, including specific acts of violence, military movement or any other actions that contravene the terms of the Agreement. Further more CTSAMM is actively monitoring and investigating a number of incidents and movements around the country, He stresses that it is the responsibility of all Parties signatory to the ceasefire Agreement to uphold their obligations to ensure unrestricted access to CTSAMM. This is to allow them accurately and speedily report on the situation around the country, says Mogae.

SPLM-IO Rebels Attacked Imatong State

Mr. Albiolo Tobiolo has said that the stormig of Ayachi County Military Outpost is a clear violation of ceasefire Agreement that was signed in Addis Ababa last Month.   The governor further explained that the area came under heavy attack on Friday morning that left one soldier wounded and the ones reported dead is not yet clear.   The governor condemns the attack and calls on armed men to adhere to the agreement.   Alberio calls on the local population not to worry as the government is working hard to bring the situation under control.   The Governor was briefing the press on Friday in Torit. South Sudan President Goes To South Africa To Extend The Confinement Of SPLM-IO Chairman Dr. Riek Machar

His Excellency President Salva Kiir is has stepped in South Africa on Friday, but his intentions are still not known but some major sites have speculated that it might be that he wanted to advocate for maintaining in confinement his main political rival and the leader of the Armed opposition Dr. Riek Machar and exclude him from future interim arrangements. He was accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Defence, Kuol Manyang, the Minister in the Office of the President, Mayiik Ayii Deng, and Minister of Petroleum, Ezekiel Lul. A major onsite news site said that “The president is visiting South Africa for two main reasons. One he is going to deliver a unified message of the transitional government of National Unity that Riek Machar should continue to remain outside the country during the interim period of the revitalized peace agreement," – Sudan Tribune. United Kingdom Rallies Support For South Sudan Peace Process

Mr. Christopher Trott The Special Envoy to South Sudan Mr. Christopher Trott the special envoy form the United Kingdom to South Sudan and Sudan is urging the regional countries to keep pressure on the warring parties in Sudan and South Sudan. Rebels In Wau Released Three Humanitarian Workers

Three humanitarian workers detained for more than five months have been released by the Rebels group in Wau   Yohannah Philip Augustino, Coordinator for Unity Cultural and Development Centre explains that Angelo Bencensio, Anthony Jabakan and Natale Arkangelo were released late last week.   The opposition group arrested the three aid workers in July last year when they were on assessment of food security among IDPs in Baggari area, he notes.   Philip confirms that three men are now with their families in Wau and they will resume their work soon.   The coordinator tells public that they will resume work after getting an assurance from Wau State authorities and security that they are free to move.   Philip expresses the gratitude for the efforts made by the Red Cross, the Opposition group and the government to have humanitarian aid workers freed.   “This is a good effort towards peace and development”, he stresses. SPLM/IO Namurnyang Governor Abducted In Kakuma Refugee Camp

Press Release 31/12/2017 GOVERNMENT ABDUCTED SPLM/A IO GOVERNOR MARKO LOKIDOR Late evening of 29/12/2017, the Kenyan Security kidnaped and abducted SPLM/A IO Governor for Kapoeta State; Marko Lokidor Lochapio from Kakuma Refugee camp under the watchful eyes of the UNHCR. Governor Lokidor was driven to Lokichogio that same night and yesterday 30/12/2017 in the morning hours, he was taken to Nadapal where he was handed over to South Sudan security personnel. This plan was orchestrated by the Governor of Namurunyang State; Luis Lobong Lojore as he wants to eliminate any possible competition. This is not the first time Lobong Lojore orchestrated and funded abduction of SPLM/A IO officials. In August/2015 Lobong used the Juba Military Intelligence Unit headed by now  Cap. Joseph Ochora in collaboration with some Ugandan security personnel to abduct six (6) SPLA IO officials from Moroto and were taken to Juba. They were tortured and five were killed and drowned into the Nile; however, by
