Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. HIV/AIDs is on the rise in Tonj after over 400 people have been confirmed to be HIV/AIDs positive, this is the result from all the counties from the state. It is confirmed that the majority of the HIV/AIDs have been identified to be residing in the town part of Tonj and a few hundred from the villages. This statistics gives us a clear picture on the ignoring of the Netizen of Tonj State and the lack of knowledge on the importance of using condoms. According to the director Mr Jok Yor, he said that 421 are residing in the town, and 5 are from the area of Palal and the rest which is twenty-one in number are from the counties of Marial. South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) struggle is associated with the vacant Vice President post that was announced by the president according to Gabriel Changson one of the prominent figures in the (SSOA). In an interview with Voice Of America  he said that the group members are accusing him of betrayal since he met with South Sudan first Vice President Taban Deng Gai in Washington United States Of America. Changson and Peter Gatdet is fighting for the leadership position and he has rejected Peter Gatdet leadship claim of SSOA. He defended his point by saying that since Gatdet is under UN sanction so that will not make him to lead the SSOA. According to the signed  peace agreement on September 2018. Mabior John Garang Is Critically Sick

The son of late Dr. John Garang is sick and is currrently admitted at an disclosed hospital in Nairobi Kenya. The former South Sudan Minister of Water is currently admitted in ICU due to kidney failure and we still don't know when he will be released from the ICU. The reason of the Kidney failure is as a result of heavy drinking of Alcohol. Mabior Garang is known for his stylish lifestyle and also for heavy drinking. The doctors also added that it might also be as a result of Marijuana too. Earlier this year he was also reported in a critical condition In Dar-es-Salaam due to over does of drugs which resulted in him passing out. His friends and people who knows him called a drug addict bluntly. Breaking News: Peace talk has collapse in the lakes states

The authorities in the lake decided to counsel the peace initiative until further notice due to the recent rampant killing that had occurred in both the eastern and western lakes state in rumbek and yirol respectively. The main reasons to why the peace process was stopped are because the paramount chief of the Eastern lakes state was brutally murdered with his son. The paramount chief was murdered with his son while attending the peace initiative. Junub Sudan receives 80 million dollars for humanitarian assistant

Humanitarian assistance in South Sudan The UN OFFICE  for Humanitarian Affairs Co-ordination (OCHA) confirms that South Sudan has been given 80 million dollars to help strengthen humanitarian action in the country. The fund is expected to tackle areas of nutrition, sanitation, food security health and many more of the donor-funded activities in the new nation. The breakdown on the usage of the fund is as follows: Upper Nile and Eastern Equatoria will receive 8 % of the fund, jonglei state will take 33% and unity with 20% respectively. Two (2) Nuer Men Slaughtered In Kakuma 4 (Kakuma Refugee Camp)

Today the Nuer community in Kakuma Refugee Camp are mourning the loss of 2 energetic men who could have help in the nation-building since most of them had a very bright future ahead of them. The men were slaughter yesterday night in Kakuma 4, by unknown people in a cold-blooded style. Rumors have it that the men are believed to be working for the government and they are allied to the current South Sudan First Vice President Taban Deng Gai. The reason for their killing is still unknown but we can only assume that since the Kakuma 4 region is full of supporters Loyal to former South Sudan Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and that might the reason why the two men were murdered. More Than (10) Outstanding Issues Remain Unresolved At The HLRF

More than 10 key talking point still have not yet been tackled at the high level revitalization forum in Ethiopia capital Addis Ababa by our leaders regarding the security and governance. These includes how the government will be  compose, also the power sharing, functions and the participation of all the warring parties in the process. The Transitional Government of National Unity will comprise the President, First Vice President to be nominated by the SPLM IO, The Vice President TGoNU, and the third Vice President to be nominated by other parties in the conflict. Furthermore the SPLM IO of former South Sudan Vice President Dr. Riak Machar, SPLM FD’s headed by Pagan Amum, and TGoNU headed by President Salva Kiir Mayadit will all be represented the transitional government. The committe have been given a deadline of 12 hours to discuss those issues. A final communiqué is expected at the end of the talks.

SPLA-IO and Government Clash in Yei River State Resulting to Death of 11 People

Yei River State today has come under heavy sound of gunfire from both the government and the SPLA-IO forces that are loyal to former South Sudan First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar resulting to 11 people losing their lives and scores injured. The information reached jubawire.blogspot.com through Hon. Huda Micah the Information Minister of the Yei River State. She says the government forces have face a series of attack from the SPLA-IO resulting into the attack. Hon. Huda Micah further added that the government has formed a committee to investigate the matter. But when further asked to identity the people killed whether they are civilians or soldiers but she refuse to disclose the information. Unknown Gunmen Kidnapped World Vision Staffs and Some Civilians Along Tambura-Yambio Road

Mr. Anikumbo Mathew the Tambura State Information Minister has confirmed that a convoy of more than three World Vision Vehicles and other private business vehicle have fallen into an ambush and unknown number of people have gone mission along the Tambura-Yambio road.  This is what he had to say. “I confirmed the incident which took place yesterday involving three vehicles with World Vision with World Vision staff and also some nun staff and other two vehicles, making a total of five, which went into ambush yesterday [Monday] around Yangiri area. The unknown gunmen believed to be rebel from the bush decided to abduct all the people, the passengers and took them to the bush”  he said. South Sudan political parties have mix reactions over the reunification of the SPLM announced on Monday this week. There is a mix reaction from the South Sudan Political Parties regarding the re-unification of the SPLM that was announced this week on Monday. Mr. Deng Bior Deng the Secretary-General of the National Alliance believes that the SPLM re-unification is just a political game by the SPLM in Juba since the re-unification is not even inclusive. He further added that the re-unification should be be inclusive after First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai announced early this week his reunification to the SPLM in the government. The main reasons to why they are coming to Juba on Thursday is East Africa. Community integration with the Government Of Junub Sudan, the civil society and the private sectors. SPLA Soldiers Forced Civilians To Feed In Tonj State

News have reached us from Tonj State that the SPLA soldiers who are currently doing the disarmament in the state have also opt to forcing civilians of Tonj State to give them food. Mr. James Koknyin who is also the acting of the affected area confirms that the troops apart from disarming civilians they also participated in forcing the civilians to feed them. James Koknyin claims that the soldiers are deployed in Kuanyja Boma. He adds that soldiers are moving along with their guns threatening people to give them food during day time. Dr. Riek Machar SPLA-IO Rebels Attacked Pagak

The Government of South Sudan again have accused the SPLA-IO allied to Dr. Riek Machar Of Attacking their base in Pagak and it is a clear violation of the cessation of hostilities agreement that was signed by both parties. High Level Revitalization Forum Date Changed From Date 2 to 17

IGAD or Intergovernmental Authority On Development  have again postponed the most anticipated third phase of the High Level Revitalization Forum from date 2 to date 17 the same month. IGAD Council of Ministers in a statement that was released on Thursday says that it adjourns the Forum after thorough deliberation and assessing the position of the parties during their meeting. The IGAD Statement explains that one of the major reason for the postponed Forum was to allow diplomacy meetings with the both parties to the conflict so that they can have a meaningful outcome of the negotiation. The group deliberated on the outcomes of the diplomacy meetings held with opposition groups, SPLM/A-IO, civil society groups and other stakeholders. The meeting agreed to narrow wide gaps that still exist among different groups to achieve lasting peace. Nepal Peace Keepers Accused Of Child Rape In South Sudan

The section of the peace UN peace keepers in South Sudan that hails from Nepal have been accused of multiple child rape in the New Nation confirms the the UN Spokesman. The UN Spokesman Mr. Stephane Dujarric said that "Any act of sexual abuse is horrendous," and also "one involving a child is especially heinous." The UN have called the Nepalese government to start and investigation immediately into the matter. The allegation was received this month after a similar allegations was also received in February when 46 UN peace keepers from Ghana were recalled from their base in South Sudan due to similar allegations. SPLA Soldiers Wounded In Northern Liech State After Clashing With SPLA-IO

Four SPLA soldiers clashed with Forces Loyal to Dr. Riek Machar wounding more than 4 SPLA soldiers in Northern Liech State. Northern Liech spokesperson Mr. Lam Tungwar confirms that the forces clashed at Bentiu and Nhialdhiu. South Sudan National Assembly has failed to conduct its sitting on Tuesday the reason is that the microphones failed to work. The meeting was meant to hear answers from a group of ministers that were earlier summoned by the parliamentarians for questioning regarding their offices.   Five ministers, Mayor and Central Bank Governor were supposed to appear before lawmakers to answer questions regarding their files, says Paul Yoane Bonju, chairperson of Information Committee of Communication in the Parliament. Prostitution Is Banned and Considered Illegal In Juba South Sudan

The Governor of Juba State says that it has already in plan to crack down on Prostitutes in Jubek State, he says any person who will be arrested for involvement in the commercial sex business will not be pardoned.  The Governor Of Jubek State Mr. Augustino Jadallah Wani says the government has been cracking down illegals and also arresting those they believed are involved in the activity.   He further said that those arrested in connection with the behavior are currently undergoing trials in the court. General Paul Malong Awan Forms His Own Rebel Movement

Former South Sudan Chief of Staffs General Paul Malong  decided to form his own party on Monday. The party will be called South Sudan United Front and it emphasize on building  string institutions than strong men. Mr. Malong said that “Our movement is a just and urgent call to our compatriots and a struggle to first arrest the carnage that has befell our country and secondly to steer us towards democracy and development , which are the cornerstones of nationhood, an African nationhood of democracy , development, equal citizenry, justice and freedom. He further reiterate that “Our movement seeks to reverse this. We must build our nationhood around strong institutions and not strongmen. Strong institutions will outlive all of us and guarantee the prosperity of our nation. This is what we yearn for in our country." Mr. Malong is calling for South Sudanese to see and open their eyes since the country is being driven by impunity.

South Sudan Government Has Other Options If Peace Talks Fails With The Oppositions

The South Sudan Spokesperson said that the government of South Sudan will decide other options if talks with the opposition fails in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.  After the council of ministers meeting on Friday, when Mr. Makuei Lueth was asked to mention the other options he failed to mention it.  He adds that the government is still focusing on the High-Level Revitalization Forum schedule to take place this month. The government recently has registered its displeasure about the venue being still in Ethiopia. They want the venue to change because of the political situation in Ethiopia. The Government Spokesman further said that the government team is ready to go to Ethiopia this month for the Next round of the Revitalization Forum. Vivacell Closure Is Affecting Money Transfer Business

South Sudanese money transfer operators are complaining that the closure if Vivacell telecommunication has affected their operation. One of the Branch Manager of Wanhalel Money Transfer Company some of their branches such as Romic and Ngapagok have been closed down because they don't have a better mobile network in their area.   One operator pointed out that MTN network sometimes is very difficult to reach and it is inefficient.   The Branch manager of Nyamale Money Transfer says MTN network is often Congested  which inefficient and ineffective it to transfer money. High expectations lead to the collapse of the recent peace talk

Torit State Speaker Mr. Odwar Admits today that due to high expectations in the recent revitalization forum has led to the collapse of the peace talk in Addis Ababa Ethiopia has he tells the citizens of South Sudan. He further reiterated that most of the parties were concentrating on their political interests instead of focusing on the real cause of conflicts in the country. He also points out that the high demand of President Salva Kiir to step down from leadership will not bring about lasting solution to South Sudan’s conflicts but calls for unity among us South Sudanese.  The Speaker urges the South Sudanese to have hope in the peace process because it is the only way peace might be achieved in South Sudan. South Sudan Army Invades Uganda

South Sudan People’s Liberation Army yesterday night got involved in a serious gunfight with the (UPDF) Uganda People’s Defence Force. The main reason of the show down is because UPDF believes SPLA Army has Invaded Uganda. It is believed that the South Sudan People’s Army (SPLA) has entered the counry through the West Nile Region into the following areas; Metu and Dufele in the District of Moyo. The West Nile regional police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia said the militants were suspected to be harboring the intentions of looting cattle from the residents. UNMISS Human Right Director Said The Warlords In The Ongoing South Sudan Civil Should Be Held Accountable Countless Loss Of Civilians life.

The UNMISS Human Rights Director has said that the lack of accountability in the on going war is a big challenge in South Sudan.  Says Mr. Eugene Nindorera. The killing of civilians in Wau town followed the ambush and killing of the SPLA soldiers by suspected SPLA-In Opposition fighters. Mr. Nindorea further said “I can confirm that, as of Sunday, nobody is being detained in connection with this attack against civilians,”  Nindorera. “I talked to victims and witnesses and was shaken to hear their testimonies of how they had to flee their houses after being attacked. It’s more important than ever before that people are held accountable for the crimes they have committed.” Mr. Nindorera was in Wau Protection Site when he had talked to the victims of the violence that is currently on going in the country between the government and the In Opposition. Imatong State has been now approved into Torit State after a series of consultations from the council of States in Juba. Mr. Charles Udwar Ukech the Imatong Assembly Speaker says that the motion was to deliberate on for long before being passed by the state assembly, pending resolutions and execution.   Mr. Tobiolo Alberio Oromo the State Governor while reading the council of the States resolution breaks the news in a public rally at Torit Freedom Square.   The name takes effect immediately after the declaration, he announces. Governor Alberio says the change of the state’s name is a demand of the people of Torit. As the state citizens wait to adopt the name, some people in Torit have different reaction over the changes. Response to IGAD Special Envoy – Ismail Wais Jan 19th, 2018 In reference to the above, the SPLM/SPLA (IO) would like to state categorically to the IGAD special envoy, Ismail Wais, that our position regarding the conflict of interest faced by IGAD, has not changed. In light of this conflict of interest, the SPLM/SPLA-IO declines to withdraw any statement. SPLM Hopes To Gain Peace In The Coming Round Of Peace Talk

Wau SPLM Information Secretary said that SPLM is struggling to bring peace to the country though peace talks that is being held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in order to realize stability in South Sudan. Mr. Jospeph Ugodo urges South Sudan people to appreciate all good contribution that party had done until the country became independent. The Information Secretary mentions that some individuals blame the SPLM for not doing enough on peace. He urges those pessimistic about the party to see the relative stability people have in their states now. Moses worries that there are some members who want to get to power without following democratic processes. SPLM and IO To Be Held Responsible For The Suffering Of South Sudanese says USAP

United Sudan African Parties or USAP Cairman is accusing SPLM and SPLM-IO to be responsible on the crisis facing the country South Sudan.  This is what he said.    “The crisis is within the SPLM on power struggle, but not all the political parties. All the parties say the warring parties should agree according to the signed 2015 peace agreement. We were so happy after 2015 peace deal because we were going for election in 2018 to solve the issue of position. But they went back to war in July 2016. And these are SPLM. United States Sanctioned South Sudan Oil Sector

The Trump administration has imposed sweeping sanctions on the oil sector in South Sudan. The Bureau of Industry and Security, Commerce added the following fifteen entities to a sanction list: Ascom Sudd Operating Company; Dar Petroleum Operating Company; DietsmannNile; Greater Pioneer Operating Co.Ltd; Juba Petrotech Technical Services Ltd; Nile Delta Petroleum Company; Nile Drilling and Services Company; Nile Petroleum Corporation; Nyakek and Sons; Oranto Petroleum; Safinat Group; SIPET Engineering and Consultancy Services; South Sudan Ministry of Minning; South Sudan Ministry of Petroleum and Sudd Petroleum Operating Co. These entities are reasonably believed to be involved, or to pose a significant risk of being or becoming involved, in activities contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States.
