Nasir Trial Adjourned as MP Gatwech Lam Puoch Begins Defense ‎

‎The Special Court handling the Nasir incident has adjourned proceedings until Monday, June 15, after the third accused, MP Gatwech Lam Puoch, began presenting his defense. ‎ ‎Gatwech, a member of the National Legislative Assembly representing Nasir County, rejected allegations linking him to activities related to the Nasir incident.  ‎ He told the court that his actions were part of his constitutional duties as an elected representative and were aimed at reducing tensions in Nasir and Ulang counties. ‎ ‎The lawmaker said a press conference cited by prosecutors was intended to encourage dialogue, address rumors, and help prevent conflict rather than incite violence.  ‎ He maintained that he was fulfilling his responsibility to represent and speak on behalf of his constituents. ‎ ‎Gatwech also argued that the Nasir crisis should be viewed within the wider context of challenges facing the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, citing concerns raised by various political act...

Egypt Donates Two (2) Tons Of Medical Supplies To Help Victims Of Jonglei State

 


The Egyptian Government today donated two tons of variegated medical stock to South Sudan National Government. 

The batch includes: medicines for various illness like asthma, anaemia and waterborne diseases that is affecting the people of Jonglei State. 

Hon. Mustafa Moatez the Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan said that more of assorted medical supplies is expected soon. 

“Egypt donated a shipment of medicines, about two tons, to deal with the floods and the humanitarian situation in Jonglei state,” Hon. Moatez said.

“This shipment includes medicines to treat anemia and diseases transmitted through water and asthma, as well as intravenous solutions, injections, and other things. this is not the last shipment,

He further said that: “We have requested tents and equipment to deal with the floods the aid will not be limited to Jonglei, but will extend to other states, and we are waiting for your assistance very soon:”

Deng Dau Deng National Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs appreciated the efforts of the Egyptian government. He spoke while receiving the assorted medical supplies. 

I'm his own words Deng Dau Deng said that: “This is one important response to the government of Jonglei. We are very much aware that the flood affected seven states in the country.” 

Deng Dau further said that: “I would like to thank the government of Egypt for responding on time, particularly in this recent flood in the Upper Nile, Unity, and Jonglei states.”

Last year the government of Egypt donated three ambulances to help South Sudan health sector.
