SPLM Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Unity, and Democratic Transition in Christmas Message ‎

South Sudanese Man Burned Alive In Kakuma Refugee Camp -Kenya






A young man who goes by the name James was burnt alive in Kakuma Refugee Camp at night while going to ease himself. 

Pay attention: The camp is located on the outskirts of Kakuma town, which is the headquarters for Turkana West District of Turkana County. Kakuma camp and Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement had a population of 196,666 registered refugees and asylum-seekers at the end of July 2020.

The young man is believed to be a new arrival and he was provided tents by UNHCR and he is residing near IRC clinic one and Humanity and Inclusion field office.

That fateful night the young man since he had not latrine so he decided to and ease himself near Nabek river to do so he had to cross some plantation owned by some Burundi refugees. 

He was caught by the Burundians mistaking him for being a thief and they beat to pulp and finally decided to end his life by burning him alive. 

Luckily some members of the group eleven and group 10 were still awake and they heard his cries for help since some of the Dinkas knows him they reacted immediately in saving him. 

He is currently admitted in clinic 7 undergoing treatment for the Third Degree Burns he had received during his ordeal.
