Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. President Kiir Held A Meeting With The Transitional National Legislative Assembly Team Led By Speaker Nunu Kumba

The Transitional National Legislative team led by speaker Hon. Nunu Kumba held a meeting with President Kiir.

Speaker Hon. Nunu said the meeting was about updating the president on the progress in the National Legislative Assembly.

She said that they also updated the president on the inauguration of South Sudan members to the East African Legislative Assembly and also to host  the upcoming Great Lakes Parliament Plenary Meeting in South Sudan. 

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) is a sub-organ of the larger East African Community, being the legislative arm of the Community. Members are sworn into five-year terms

She further said that they are planning to with the executive body in the implementation of the peace agreement. 

The Transitional National Legislature of South Sudan is the legislature of South Sudan. The Transitional National Legislature consists of the Transitional Council of States (upper house) and the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (lower house). The National Legislature has its seat in Juba, South Sudan.

Eight (8) SSPDF Soldiers Killed In An Ambush In Gok State

Eight (8) South Sudan People Defense Force have been killed in an ambush attack by the youths of Gok State.   Hon. John Madol State Minister of Information said that the State Authorities dispatched 26 soldiers to retried some cattle as a compensation for a man that was recently murdered in the area. Here is the full statement of Hon. Madol “What happened was that on the 31st of August 2019 about 26 soldiers from South Sudan Defense Forces were authorized to go and bring cattle for compensation of a person who has been killed earlier in Gok State. So when the forces went under the directives of the commanding officer, they fell into an ambush of the cattle keeper’s armed youth.” So in total the people killed are ten which means eight from the SSPDF and two from the armed youths.  More to come shortly....

Illegal Firearms Possession Banned In Western Lakes State By The Authorities

Authorities of South Sudan’s Western Lakes State have banned the possession of illegal firearms in the state. Western Lakes States Authorities today banned the civilians from possessing Illegal firearms in the state.   The banned came after series of unprecedented murder cases in the state deeming the insecure  Western Lakes State Governor said that “I, Major general, Mahmoud Solomon Deer Agok, governor of Western Lakes State do hereby issue this order for the banning of illegal armed person movement within the headquarters of all the eleven (11) Counties of Western Lakes State.” The order will not implemented fully minus the support of the armed forces so the governor is calling on all the armed forces in his state to help implement his order.   Citizens of Western Lakes State are happy with the order since they will be able to carry out their daily activities minus fear of unknown gunmen.   South Sudanese what do you think of this brave move by Western Lakes State Gov
