President Kiir, Museveni Strengthen Bilateral Ties, Pledge Regional Stability

President Kiir, President Museveni and VP. A Herder and 400 Cattles Were Shot Dead Near Juba


A local official said 400 cattles and a Herder were both shot dead near Juba by gunmen who invaded Rokon and Koda Payams. 

The incident happened at the wee hours of the morning around 5 Am in Karenakeret cattle camp. 

The local chief Gabriel Majur confirmed the incident by saying scores of cattles were also killed in the attack..

“These people launched an attack earlier morning around 5 AM where they killed one person and wounded six who are currently nursing at the hospital,” Majur Gabriel. 

He further said that: 

“I had also gone to bring one young girl who was stranded in the bush, and I discovered that 400 herds of cattle were killed. And the wounded who had died from behind is what I don’t know.”

One James Manyang is accusing the NAS to have orchestrated the attacks. James Manyang is one of the Representative of the cattle camp residence. 

“The cattle were attacked by NAS. They were using heavy machine guns. One of the civilians was killed and seven were wounded. The cattle were killed by heavy machine guns, more than 400 of them.”- Manyang said. 

In response, NAS spokesperson Suba Samuel, refuted the allegation, saying the armed group does not have a presence in Koda.

NAS refuted the allegations, saying that NAS is not present in Koda Payam. Suba Samuel NAS Spokeperson said. 

“I have not heard about this, and I do not think our forces are even in Koda. These days you know these inter-tribal conflicts have issues to do with cattle camps. NAS does not have interest in all these kinds of things,” said Suba
