Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. Governor Adil Emmanuel To Demolish Illegal Structures And Retrieved All Playgrounds In Juba.

Seven member committee was formed by Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil on Tuesday.

The committee manifesto is to demolish Illegal structures and retrieve all Playgrounds and reserve lands. 

Mr. Derrick Derrickson, the Governor's Press secretary said that: “the committee is tasked to demolish illegal structures erected on road reserves, to retrieve all illegally acquired lands, and to demolish all illegal settlements in government structures such as schools and playgrounds,”-Derrickson.

The directives from the governor was initially initiated by the president Kiir. The committee was given two months to bring their findings.

The appointed members are: Fredericko Laku Raymond- Chairman of the committee, Mawa Moses-Deputy Chairperson, Thiik Mayardit- Members, Brigadier Samuel Jaafar Ladu-Member,  and John  Ponsiano.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
