Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Governor Adil Emmanuel To Demolish Illegal Structures And Retrieved All Playgrounds In Juba.


Seven member committee was formed by Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil on Tuesday.

The committee manifesto is to demolish Illegal structures and retrieve all Playgrounds and reserve lands. 

Mr. Derrick Derrickson, the Governor's Press secretary said that: “the committee is tasked to demolish illegal structures erected on road reserves, to retrieve all illegally acquired lands, and to demolish all illegal settlements in government structures such as schools and playgrounds,”-Derrickson.

The directives from the governor was initially initiated by the president Kiir. The committee was given two months to bring their findings.

The appointed members are: Fredericko Laku Raymond- Chairman of the committee, Mawa Moses-Deputy Chairperson, Thiik Mayardit- Members, Brigadier Samuel Jaafar Ladu-Member,  and John  Ponsiano.
