Nasir Trial Adjourned as MP Gatwech Lam Puoch Begins Defense ‎

‎The Special Court handling the Nasir incident has adjourned proceedings until Monday, June 15, after the third accused, MP Gatwech Lam Puoch, began presenting his defense. ‎ ‎Gatwech, a member of the National Legislative Assembly representing Nasir County, rejected allegations linking him to activities related to the Nasir incident.  ‎ He told the court that his actions were part of his constitutional duties as an elected representative and were aimed at reducing tensions in Nasir and Ulang counties. ‎ ‎The lawmaker said a press conference cited by prosecutors was intended to encourage dialogue, address rumors, and help prevent conflict rather than incite violence.  ‎ He maintained that he was fulfilling his responsibility to represent and speak on behalf of his constituents. ‎ ‎Gatwech also argued that the Nasir crisis should be viewed within the wider context of challenges facing the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, citing concerns raised by various political act...

Governor Adil Emmanuel To Demolish Illegal Structures And Retrieved All Playgrounds In Juba.

Seven member committee was formed by Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil on Tuesday.

The committee manifesto is to demolish Illegal structures and retrieve all Playgrounds and reserve lands. 

Mr. Derrick Derrickson, the Governor's Press secretary said that: “the committee is tasked to demolish illegal structures erected on road reserves, to retrieve all illegally acquired lands, and to demolish all illegal settlements in government structures such as schools and playgrounds,”-Derrickson.

The directives from the governor was initially initiated by the president Kiir. The committee was given two months to bring their findings.

The appointed members are: Fredericko Laku Raymond- Chairman of the committee, Mawa Moses-Deputy Chairperson, Thiik Mayardit- Members, Brigadier Samuel Jaafar Ladu-Member,  and John  Ponsiano.

‎Juba, September 24, 2025  Seventy-two bodyguards of First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar were released on Wednesday from the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) detention facility at Giada in Juba, after spending 178 days in custody. ‎ ‎The development was confirmed by Nyenagwek Manayom, Executive Director in Dr. Machar’s office, who said the guards had been held since March this year. ‎ ‎According to Nyenagwek, one of the detainees, Luka Gathok, died while in custody.  ‎ Out of those released, 22 are currently receiving treatment at Juba Teaching Hospital, highlighting concerns over the conditions of their detention. ‎ ‎Despite the release, four of Machar’s senior bodyguards remain in custody. General Education Minister and President Salva Kiir.  ‎President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has been briefed by the Ministry of General Education and Instruction on the latest Primary School Examination results an important step in assessing the progress of South Sudan’s education system. ‎ ‎The official release of the results is expected next week, but early insights shared during the briefing paint a mixed picture. South Sudan Catholic Church Denounces Sexual Gender Base Violence.

South Sudan Catholic Church finally decided to distance themselves with all form of human rights abuse and also the common Gender Based Violence in South Sudan (SGBV) and the Catholic Church said that Gender Based Violence is wrong. South Sudan Catholic Churches said that South Sudan Should accept that Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) exists in South Sudan and it is our duty as South Sudanese to combat it in all aspects of live since it has caused countless crisis in South Sudan.  The Catholic Leaders attended a training that was conducted by the UISG or the Justice and Peace International Union Of Superior General In south Sudan.
