‎Health, Relief, and National Security Shake Up Signals New Political Realignment ‎ ‎President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a wave of presidential decrees, reshuffling leadership in three of South Sudan’s most sensitive institutions: the Ministry of Health, the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC), and the National Security Service (NSS). ‎ ‎The decrees, announced on State-run South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Wednesday evening, have already ignited heated political debate. President Salva Kiir Joins Thousands Of Mourners In Juba For The Funeral Of Late Defence Minister Gen.John Kong


South Sudan President Salva Kiir today join mourners to mourn our late former Minister of Defence General John Koang. Thousands of mourners were present at Medan Simba for the funeral prayers for the late Defence Minister Gen. John Kong who died in Nairobi on 26th December 2022. 

President Kiir describe the late Gen. John Kong as a true friend and a selfless fighter during our struggle for freedom. 

President Kiir further said eulogized the late Gen. Kong by saying the late general dedicated his life to struggle against marginalization and injustice. 

He further said that the late Kong is a principled man who do not condone tribal politics but believed in diversity and coexistence among South Sudanese. 

In the attendance were the First Vice President H. E Riek Machar, Vice Presidents H.E . James Wani Igga, H.E Taban Deng Gai, H.E. Rebecca Nyandeng and the Speaker of Parliament RH. Nunu Kumba, among other senior government officials.
