"SSPDF' Soldier Allegedly Kills Younger Brother Over Financial Dispute in Warrap State

  SSPDF. South Sudan People's Defense Forces 'SSPDF' soldier today was believed to have shot and killed his younger brother over financial disagreements in Gogrial East County-Warrap State.  According to eyewitnesses and family members. 1st Lieutenant Geng Tong Geng shot his brother twice over the misuse of 1 Million SSP. The deceased Arol Tong Geng was imprison in Kwacjok and was released earlier because the family requested for his release.  The dispute between the brothers was meant to be settled amicably but the 1st. Lieutenant Geng couldn't control his resentment and opted to end his younger brother's life.  Local State and County Authorities have not yet commented on the incident but concerned community members are calling seeking for justice.  Such family conflicts can escalate quickly in this region, where access to resources often exacerbates tensions within families and communities.  This tragedy underscores ongoing social challenges in Warrap State, where

14 People Killed In Uror and Duk Counties Of Jonglei State


14 people were killed and 16 others in separate attacks in Duk and Uror Counties of Jonglei State, local officials said.

Speaking to the media Uror County Commissioner Hon. Machot Gatluak Kenyak said that armed youth groups launch attacks in several parts of the counties. 

“On Friday, there were different incidents. In Motot Payam, the gunmen killed four people at 9 pm. In Karam Payam, five people were killed and eight injured at 11 pm, while in Pulchuol Payam, unspecified herds of cattle were raided. In the Tiam area, five children, including four girls, were abducted in an attack on Friday at 5 pm,” Machot said. “Also, in neighbouring Duk County, at least five people were killed and eight injured.”

The Lawmaker representing Duk County said that attacks were carried in Panyang Payam leaving at least 5 people dead and 8 injured. 

“Those attackers are loitering around the bushes, so we want the national government to intervene."

The officials are laying fingers to the armed youths from GPAA Greater Pibor Administrative Area for carrying out the attacks. 

Another Lou Nuer local Official confirmed the incidents and said that they were pursuing the attackers in a bid to recover stolen cattles.

GPAA local officials denied knowledge of Pibor Youth involvement in such attacks in parts of Jonglei State.
