13 Killed in Jonglei Clashes Over Disputed Fishing Ground.

‎Jonglei State, South Sudan. At least 13 people have been killed and more than 20 others injured in renewed communal clashes between the Hol and Ayual communities in Jonglei State, officials confirmed on Thursday. ‎ ‎The deadly fighting broke out on Wednesday at Bioth-Agany Fishing Island, a disputed area between Duk and Twic East counties, after armed youth from the Hol community of Duk reportedly launched an attack on the island currently claimed by the Ayual community of Twic East. ‎ ‎Twic East County Commissioner Juach Arok Juach stated that seven people from his community were killed, seven others wounded, and four remain missing. President Kiir today met with the national basketball team and congratulated them for their remarkable achievement of qualifying for the Olympics 2024. 


The qualifications for the Olympics came after South Sudan national basketball team showcased an outstanding performance in the Fiba World Cup 2023. 


The players and the coaching staff were accorded a warmly welcome at the presidential palace. 


The President expressed his pride and admiration for the team's dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent, which ultimately led to their qualification for the Olympics.


South Sudan's Men's National Basketball team is currently ranked number 62 in world. 


South Sudan national basketball team official name is South Sudan Basketball Federation. It was established in May 2011, and became a member of FIBA in December 2013.

Ugandan Troops Accused of War Crimes in South Sudan: Civil Society Demands ICC Action
