President Salva Kiir Mayardiit reiterated that African leaders to join efforts to address the impacts of Climate Change on the continent.


The South Sudanese president was addressing the inaugural session of the Africa Climate Summit 2023 in Nairobi Kenya. 


The Summit  held under the theme 'Driving Green Growth and climate finance solutions for Africa and the world' is aimed at addressing the escalating exposure to climate change and its associated costs.


The event provides a crucial platform for African leaders to deliberate on the pressing climate-related issues affecting the continent. 


The Summit sought to inform, frame, and influence commitments, pledges, and outcomes, with the ultimate goal of developing the Nairobi Declaration, an agreement that will guide Africa's response to climate change.


President Kiir's participation at the occasion  demonstrated his dedication to addressing the urgent climate challenges facing South Sudan and the African continent as a whole.
