President Kiir Wednesday met with South African’s Deputy President Paul Mashatile to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in the implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement


The visiting South African Deputy President has been conducting meetings with various leaders and institutions in Juba to assess the progress of the peace deal.


Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Deng Dau Malek said the meeting further discussed the upcoming elections, with South Africa pledging to support the National Electoral Commission in its preparations for the polls.


President Kiir reaffirmed government keenness to implement the provisions of the agreement in order to take the country to the trajectory of peace and democratic elections at the end of the transitional period in 2024.
