Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. President Kiir officiates the swearing in of the new Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

President Kiir, today vow to make changes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation in a bid to fulfill it's mandate. 


President Kiir gave his speech while over-seeing the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Hon. Ramadan Goc. 


Deputy Chief Justice Dr. Gatwech Lul administered the oath. 


On his part, Foreign Minister Dr. James Pitia Morgan assured the President of their readiness to effect reforms in the Ministry so as to clean the country's image both within and outside.


Deputy Minister Ramadan Goc said they will work in tandem to build strong relations between South Sudan and other countries.


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for implementation and management of South Sudan's foreign policy and works for a secure and fair world.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
