‎Health, Relief, and National Security Shake Up Signals New Political Realignment ‎ ‎President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a wave of presidential decrees, reshuffling leadership in three of South Sudan’s most sensitive institutions: the Ministry of Health, the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC), and the National Security Service (NSS). ‎ ‎The decrees, announced on State-run South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Wednesday evening, have already ignited heated political debate. President Kiir, met Russian President, discussed about expansion of ties between the two countries 


The two heads of states agreed to to strengthen and expand ties between Russia and South Sudan.

They also agreed to strengthen the existing relations between the two countries, in areas like trade, investments, energy and other existing sectors. 


President Salva Kiir Mayardiit and Vladimir Putin, also discussed about peace and security in Africa and international affairs.

President Kiir, expressed commitment to bolster stronger ties with Russia through collaborations in different fields in a bid to achieve a sustainable development. 


On his part, President Putin said Russia is ready to expand bilateral relations with South Sudan in areas of economy, development, trade, energy and education.

President Kiir also attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Soldiers by the Kremlin Wall and the monument in honour of the Cities of Military Glory. 


In his virtual address during 2023 BRICS Summit held in Johannesburg in August, the Russian President said Moscow intends to deepen ties with African countries, and that it would remain a reliable partner for food and fuel supplies
