Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. Salva Kiir Mayardiit, the president of South Sudan yesterday met with the Special Representative of The UN Secretary General Mr. Nicolas Haysom for heads-up on the upcoming meeting of the Security Council and the General Assembly which will be held at New York City USA this month. 


The two leaders also looked into the progress and implementation of the 'RPA' Revitalized Peace Agreement.


In particular they talked about the first deployment batch of the Necessary Unified Forces as part of the agreed security arrangements in the country. 


the UN General Assembly 'UNGA' is the main and only policy-making organ of the organization. 


UN-General Assembly comprises of 193 member states, it's main objective is to provides a forum for multilateral discussion of international issues covered by the 'Charter' of the United Nations. 


Earlier this year, South Sudan Council of Ministers approved 3.6 Billion 'SSP' Budget for the deployment of the Necessary Unified Forces in the country. 


Hon. Michael Makuei Lueth the Minister of Information while speaking to the media after the cabinet meeting said that, Hon. Stephen Kuol the Minister of Peace Building tabled a budget of SSP 3.671,588,100 to the cabinet. 


The agreed budget was for buying food and other arrangements necessary for the deployment of the unified forces in Phase One
