Top Opposition General Joins Government Forces in South Sudan

‎A senior opposition army officer has left his group and joined the government army in South Sudan. Brigadier General Adnan Alex Boboya, who was part of the SPLA-IO (the main opposition army), said he has decided to support peace and work with the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), which is the national army. ‎ ‎Speaking in Yei River County, Gen. Boboya said, “I am doing this for the good of my people and my country. It is time for peace. We, as soldiers, should protect our communities, not fight them.” ‎ ‎Government army leaders welcomed him and encouraged other opposition fighters to stop fighting and talk about peace. ‎ ‎This comes just days after over 600 SPLA-IO soldiers also joined the government side. ‎ ‎But some people are worried that these changes could cause more problems for the peace agreement signed in 2018 between President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Riek Machar.  ‎ ‎There are also reports that Riek Machar is being kept at home and not allowed to move...

South Sudan Parliament Summons Kuol Manyang and Nhial Deng Because Of Boarder With Kenya

South Sudan Parliament Summoned Kuol Manyang Minister Of Defense, Nhial Deng Minister Of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Kapoeta State Governor Luis Lobong over Kenya boarder issue. 
This came after some members of parliament claimed that the Kenya government launched 65-kilometer road rehabilitation project last month.
The three government officials were summoned over a project by Kenya to construct a tarmac road pass Nadapal up-to Kor Nakodok.  
The Kenya road project is about 70 kilometers and it goes 12 kilometers deep inside South Sudan territory. 
Apart from the broads Kenyan troops have encroached into South Sudan territory making it hard for the natives to take their cattles for grazing.  
Kapoeta State Member of parliament Hon. Epone Loolimo said that “The local communities of Kapoeta state have been denied access to grazing land and freedom of movement -despite an MoU signed between [our] national government with the government of Kenya in 2009.” 
This is a serious issue let's wait patiently for the outcome.

    This what was supposed to be done befor time by the above two ministers,but unfortunately they did act although they were aware of that . Instead they care much about juba twon things more than national issues.

  IO defectors and NSS Spokesperson.  ‎South Sudan’s political and military landscape is experiencing renewed tensions after the defection of 463 SPLA-IO personnel to the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF). The National Security Service (NSS) announced the move, stating that reintegrating the defectors into the government army is essential for stability and peace. ‎ ‎David John Kumuri, NSS spokesman, emphasized the importance of this process, saying, ‎"This reintegration is key to reducing violence and ensuring security across the country." ‎ ‎This marks the third mass defection of SPLA-IO members in recent weeks, following clashes in Nasir, Upper Nile State, last month.
