Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. Western Lakes Governor Swore To Improve Security In His State

Mr.  Mahmud Solomon the newly appointment governor of Western Lakes State has assured the people of peace and security and also development.  
 
The Governor spoke during a rally at Rumbek.  He told the people not to fear but embrace better and Greater day coming.  Since through security everything will be fine.  

Mostly he was not happy with the current trend in revenge killing which has already destroyed the image of the state.  

Mr.  Solomon Was appointed on 20th May, 2019 by His Excellency Salva Kiir the South Sudan President.  Mr. Solomon replaced Brigadier General John Deng Mamer. 
 
Mr.  Solomon was accompanied by senior members of the government. He also asked the people of western lakes state to work as a team to move the state forward in terms of development.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
