Governor Joseph Monytuil of Unity State briefed President Kiir on several pressing issues affecting the state, including security concerns, the status of floods and displacement, the returnees and refugees, road connectivity, and efforts to raise the living standards for the people.


He requested for the President's continued support towards the settlement and reintegration of the returnees into their communities.


The Governor stressed the urgent need for humanitarian assistance and support to the floods affected people in Unity State.


Unity State, also known as Western Upper Nile, is a state in South Sudan. Unity State is in the Greater Upper Nile region. Unity is inhabited predominantly by two ethnic groups: the Nuer majority, and the Dinka minority.
