The re-appointment of the former Bor Town Mayor as the Commissioner of Bor led to the protests by residents in the streets earlier today morning in Bor.

Jonglei State Governor Hon. Chagor Denah Jock sacked Samuel Ateny Pech as the Mayor and accused him of grabbing lands allocated to the business women

The sacked Mayor is now back as the County Commissioner and the residents of Bor are not happy with the news.

Bor Community initially accused Samuel Ateny Pech of being a "thief" and "land grabber" and are demanding that he never be sworn in.

"We don't want Ateny. He has been stealing land and other properties. There is no way a land thief can come in the form of a County Commissioner." one woman said.

"If he was stealing when he was just a Mayor, what would he do after getting the full power of being the County Commissioner?" One youth leader questioned.

Bor Community also accused the information Minister Hon. Michael Makuei and Deputy Governor of Jonglei State Hon. Jacob Akech Dengdit of orchestrating the re-appointment of the former Mayor.

"This is unacceptable and we urge President Kiir to come in and remove both Akech Dengdit and Ateny Pech"

"We don't want Ateny to be sworn in as Commissioner, if he does, we will continue to protest even for the deputy Governor to be removed," another woman said.
