Police In Bor-Town Jonglei State Probes The Killing Of A National Security Officer

Jonglei State Police confirmed that investigations is still going in into the killing of National Security Services "NSS" officer by un-identified attacker last week in Bor-Town.


Officer Garang Maduok Deng, last week on Wednesday was attacked and stabbed multiple times rendering him critically injured by unknown assailant while on duty. 


The National Security Services "NSS" officer later succumbed to his injuries after he was airlifted to Juba for proper medical treatment. 


Gen. Elia Costa Faustino, Jonglei State Police Commissioner while speaking to the media confirmed the incident. 


Jonglei State Police Commissioner further said that, the deceased officer was delegated to investigate a UN Vehicle when he was attacked by the unknown assailant. 


"According to the information, the officer received a call from his colleagues that there was a UN vehicle moving at night. After leaving his house to confirm, he found that the information was not true and that the vehicle was a private one,” he said. “It was while he was returning to his place that he was attacked and stabbed in the stomach with a sharp stick." Gen. Costa said. 


"To date, we have not arrested any suspects but we have taken statements from some individuals and the investigations are still ongoing," Gen. Costa said.
