President Kiir Met With Humanitarian Affairs And Disaster Management Minister To Address Challenges Facing Humanitarian Sector

President Kiir met with the Minister Of Humanitarian Affairs And Disaster Management Hon, Albino Atak Akol. 


In the same meeting the president also met with the Chairperson for Relief And Rehabilitation Commission Mr. Manasseh Wole Waya. 


The meeting was to discuss on issues affecting Humanitarian Workers in the country and how to address the issues. 


In his remarks, the Humanitarian Affairs Minister Albino Atak said they discussed about the anticipated floods that is expected to occur during rainy season. 


Hon. Albino said the government has put in place humanitarian response plan and measures to support people in dire need of humanitarian assistance.


According to a report published by UNICEF Seventy percent of the South Sudanese population is in need of humanitarian assistance. Of the 9.4 million people in need, 5 million are children.
