Finance Ministry Launches Website, To Promote Transparency

The Ministry of Finance and Planning has launched its official website, aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and public consumption of economic information. 


The website, www.mofp.gov.ss, is also expected to digitize daily service delivery and public transactions. 


According to the Minister of Finance, Dier Tong Ngor, the creation of an official government website is a requirement under the Public Financial Management and Accountability Act (2011) and is a request by international donors to assess the level of transparency in the management of public funds and donor money.


During the ceremony, the Ministry also launched the Aid Information Management System (AIMS), which is expected to enhance the government's ability to manage funds acquired through grants, aid, loans, and public funds, as well as improve relations between the government, development partners, and the private sector. 


The launching ceremony was presided over by the Minister, and was attended by representatives from the National Communication Authority, Access to Information Commission, development partners, private sector, civil society organizations, academia, think tanks, and ministry staffs. 


The website provides details about the Ministry's structure and leadership profile, daily news activities, functions and core values, directorates, as well as relevant economic documents such as budget, laws, circulars, resolutions, reports, contract tenders, and job opportunities.
