Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. The Speaker of Parliament Jemma Nunu Kumba on Monday delivered four Bills to President Kiir for final endorsement.


The bills that have been passed by the National Assembly include; National Archive and Record Management Bills 2023, National Public Health Institute 2023, me Convention on Cluster Management 2023.


The President is expected to assent the bills into law as required by the constitution.


A bill is a legislative proposal before Congress. Bills from each house are assigned a number in the order in which they are introduced, starting at the beginning of each Congress (first and second sessions).


A Bill is also a proposal for a new law, or a proposal to change an existing law that is presented for debate before Parliament.
