Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. The Presidency in a meeting chaired by President Kiir has directed the free movement of people and services throughout the country, banning any armed group from controlling specific areas in the country.


The leadership says this is to ensure the citizens go about their daily activities without fear or any hindrances.


Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs Tut Gatluak Manime says the Presidency further directed the security organs to investigate the recent killings in the suburbs of Juba, Wunkur of Ruweng Administrative Area and along some stations along the River Nile.


The Presidency said those responsible for the heinous crimes must be held to account, warning people against engaging in harmful activities.


The country's leadership also directed the immediate deployment of the graduated members of the Necessary Unified Forces, and the start of Phase Two of the training.


The Presidency made the decisions after obtaining detailed security reports about the current situation in the country from the Director General of the Internal Security Bureau of the National Security Service General Akol Kur Kooc.
