Update: Student shot in Nakasongola Church shooting succumbs to injuries

 



Deng Makhon, the student who was shot today during the violent incident near Nakasongola Church, has tragically passed away. 


Today, a violent shooting unfolded near the national parliament at Nakasongola Church, leaving one student on the brink of death. Deng Makhon, a young man who juggles his studies with being a mobile money exchange vendor, sustained a critical gunshot wound to the chest.


Deng's close friend, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed the harrowing details of the incident. 


"Amidst protests against the demolition of a nearby church by security agents, chaos erupted, leading to a series of gunshots that got people running for their lifes. Unfortunately, Deng victim the shooting.

Deng was a former head prefect at Elite High School in Juba.
