Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. President Salva Kiir gifts Catholic Cardinal, Cardinal Gabriel Zubier Wako a brand new house today in Juba. 


The new residence of the first Sudanese Catholic cardinal was opened by Vice President James Wani on Saturday in Juba.


The blessing of the new house was presided over by His Lordship Bishop Santo Loku Pio, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba. 


In attendance during the handing over of the new house were Vatican Charge’ de Affairs Msgr Ionut Paul, Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut, Hon. Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, Minister of Presidential Affairs. 


Cardinal Zubier was ordained priest in 1963, and became Archbishop of Khartoum in 1979. He was elevated to the level of Cardinal in 2003 and retired as the Archbishop of Khartoum in 2016.


He was one of the cardinal electors who participated in the 2005 papal conclave that selected Pope Benedict XVI and the 2013 conclave that elected Pope Francis
