Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. EDUCATION CANNOT WAIT ORGANIZATION LAUDS PRESIDENT KIIR FOR SUPPORTING GIRLS EDUCATION

 



None Governmental Organization, Education Cannot Wait has commended President Kiir for his strong support for girls education in the country. 


The Organization's Executive Director Yasmine Sheriff briefed the President on the activities her organization is funding in South Sudan. 


"I am glad that President Kiir is a wise, profound leader that made a huge impact and has such a strong support for girls education, to make sure that the female population are re-able to achieve education",  Yasmine asserted. 


The Minister of General Education and Instructions Awut Deng Acuil thanked the organization for funding critical education programs in the country. 


Awut appreciated the President's declaration of free and compulsory education in the country. 


It's worth nothing that the Organization had launched a three-year Multi year Resilience program  at the tune of 72 million USD in Yirol town of Lakes State.
