Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. EDUCATION CANNOT WAIT ORGANIZATION LAUDS PRESIDENT KIIR FOR SUPPORTING GIRLS EDUCATION

 



None Governmental Organization, Education Cannot Wait has commended President Kiir for his strong support for girls education in the country. 


The Organization's Executive Director Yasmine Sheriff briefed the President on the activities her organization is funding in South Sudan. 


"I am glad that President Kiir is a wise, profound leader that made a huge impact and has such a strong support for girls education, to make sure that the female population are re-able to achieve education",  Yasmine asserted. 


The Minister of General Education and Instructions Awut Deng Acuil thanked the organization for funding critical education programs in the country. 


Awut appreciated the President's declaration of free and compulsory education in the country. 


It's worth nothing that the Organization had launched a three-year Multi year Resilience program  at the tune of 72 million USD in Yirol town of Lakes State.
