SPLM Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Unity, and Democratic Transition in Christmas Message ‎

‎Juba, December 24, 2025 ‎The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and a democratic future for South Sudan in a Christmas message issued by its Secretary General, Dr. Akol Paul Koordit. ‎ In the message dated 24 December 2025, released by the Office of the Secretary General at the SPLM National Secretariat, the ruling party extended warm Christmas greetings to South Sudanese citizens at home and in the diaspora, calling on the nation to reflect on shared values of peace, compassion, and national cohesion. ‎ “Christmas is a sacred season that calls upon us to reflect on the enduring values of peace, unity, compassion, and service,” the message reads. ‎ Peace, Elections, and National Cohesion ‎ Dr. Koordit emphasized that these values form the foundation upon which the SPLM was established and continues to guide its responsibility to serve the people and the country. ‎ The SPLM reiterated its dedication to: ‎ Peace and inclus...

President Salva Kiir Mayardiit, while addressing the media on Monday, pledged to resolve the current border disputes between South Sudan and Uganda.


The South Sudan president, made those remarks after he was briefed by the Central Equatoria State Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony about the latest development in Kajo-Keji County boarderin with Uganda.

President Salva Kiir Mayardiit, promised the governor of 'CES' of his willingness to peace, tranquility and development in Central Equatoria State. 


RECENT INCIDENTS:

Recently, the government was forced to swap 13 illegal Ugandan loggers with a Kajo-Keji local chief who was arrested in Arua District.

In the past, there had been similar accusations of illegal border crossings and settlements between Kajo-Keji and Moyo and Yumbe Districts in search of resources.


Kajo-Keji County, is an administrative area in Central Equatoria State, South Sudan.

Kajo-Keji County, in the year 2013 the County experienced large-scale violence that was triggered by the national conflict. 


However, the second outbreak of conflict in 2016 had a big effect on the County. The county has seen a lot of people move away and feel unsafe, which has made it hard for people to make a living there.

People who had to leave Kajo-Keji mostly went to Uganda. Before 2016, there were always fights between different groups, and it wasn't always clear why. 


Due to a lack of police resources and good legal infrastructure, it has been hard to solve problems through the legal system.
