The king of chollo kingdom, commonly known as Shilluk today paid a courtesy visit to president Salva Kiir Mayardiit in Juba South Sudan. 


President Kiir, and the Chollo Kingdom King exchange their views on the current state of affairs in South Sudan.

While addressing the media, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the Presidential Affairs Minister said that, the president and the king talked about sustaining peace and stability in South Sudan. 


The King said that, he touched base with the President on the need for consolidating healing , peace and reconciliation ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The Shilluk Kingdom, is mostly dominated by the Shilluk people, was located along the left bank of the White Nile in what is now South Sudan and southern Sudan.


The Shilluk people, are the third-largest ethnic group of South Sudan, after the ethnic groups like Dinka and Nuer.

Their language is called Dhøg Cøllø, dhøg being the Shilluk word for language and mouth. It belongs to the Luo branch of the Western Nilotic subfamily of the Nilotic languages.
