South Sudan’s Caretaker Minister of Presidential Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima, has held talks with Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Delil Kedir Bushra, on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on diplomatic relations and cooperation, with the two officials also exchanging views on the current situation in South Sudan, Ethiopia and the wider region. Ambassador Delil Kedir said the discussions provided an opportunity to share perspectives on regional developments and matters of mutual interest. The king of chollo kingdom, commonly known as Shilluk today paid a courtesy visit to president Salva Kiir Mayardiit in Juba South Sudan. 


President Kiir, and the Chollo Kingdom King exchange their views on the current state of affairs in South Sudan.

While addressing the media, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the Presidential Affairs Minister said that, the president and the king talked about sustaining peace and stability in South Sudan. 


The King said that, he touched base with the President on the need for consolidating healing , peace and reconciliation ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The Shilluk Kingdom, is mostly dominated by the Shilluk people, was located along the left bank of the White Nile in what is now South Sudan and southern Sudan.


The Shilluk people, are the third-largest ethnic group of South Sudan, after the ethnic groups like Dinka and Nuer.

Their language is called Dhøg Cøllø, dhøg being the Shilluk word for language and mouth. It belongs to the Luo branch of the Western Nilotic subfamily of the Nilotic languages.

Thirty Five (35) People Confirmed Dead In Kapoeta Flood.

Governor of Kapoeta Stats Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore confirmed to the media that after a heavy rain in Kapoeta on Tuesday 35 people lost their lives.  The same rain hit various parts of South Sudan like Duk in Jonglei whereby people also died.   Hon. Lobong said that "We lost about 35 people during the heavy rains that hit several counties in the state on 10 June, so this is what happened here."  He added that the flood destroyed people homes and even destroy the bridges.  “We are trying to create awareness among our people to control water-borne diseases,” he said. The flood affected the market in Kapoeta since it cleared all the food store in Kapoeta State. He added.  Finally he is calling out to the humanitarian organization to come and rescue his people plus the government too since many people are dire need of help.  More to come shortly....

Salva Kiir Women Hospital Receives Solar Donation From South Sudanese In Diaspora

Salva Kiir Women Hospital in Rumbek receives solar donation from South Sudanese in Diaspora mostly from Australia.   The chairman of South Sudanese in Diaspora Australia section said that the solar is to be used mostly in the maternity ward and also to fight darkness in the maternity ward.   The solar will be used to light the incubator in the maternity ward and all be used in theatre during operation.   Dr. Ali Dhamir gives his thanks to the Rumbek community in diaspora for their act of kindness.   Dr. Ali who is also the Medical Director in the facility said that the Solar's will help save many lives in Rumbek.  Australia has a high number of South Sudanese. Here is a breakdown of their population: New South Wale 651, Western Australia 512 and Victoria 1200. More to follow shortly....
