13 Killed in Jonglei Clashes Over Disputed Fishing Ground.

‎Jonglei State, South Sudan. At least 13 people have been killed and more than 20 others injured in renewed communal clashes between the Hol and Ayual communities in Jonglei State, officials confirmed on Thursday. ‎ ‎The deadly fighting broke out on Wednesday at Bioth-Agany Fishing Island, a disputed area between Duk and Twic East counties, after armed youth from the Hol community of Duk reportedly launched an attack on the island currently claimed by the Ayual community of Twic East. ‎ ‎Twic East County Commissioner Juach Arok Juach stated that seven people from his community were killed, seven others wounded, and four remain missing. President Salva Kiir Mayardiit, today on Wednesday met with the new members of SPLM, SPLM is the ruling party in South Sudan. 


The new SPLM members all hailed from Uror County, Jonglei State, the new members decided to join SPLM the rulling party which is headed by president Kiir.

While addressing the media, Presidential Affairs Minister, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin said that, these comrades have endorsed the nomination of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit as the flag bearer of SPLM come 2024. 


"These comrades have endorsed the nomination of President Kiir as SPLM flag bearer in the 2024 general elections". Dr. Barnaba said.

Dr. Barnaba further said that, the new members had fully registered their membership in SPLM. 


Dr. Barnaba stressed that, their is need for service delivery in Uror County which includes road rehabilitation, health and schools among others.

SPLM Secretary General Peter Lam Both said the liberation party is working for the unity of the people of South Sudan.


Uror County, is one of the county in Jonglei State, South Sudan. It has nine payams: Pathai, Pieri, Pulchuol, Palouny, Motdit, Motot, Karam, Pajut, Weykol and Padiek.

Cueibet County Commissioner Arrested Amid Rising Political Tensions in Lakes State ‎

Former Commissioner of Cueibet County of Lakes State, Deng Mario Deng. Ugandan Troops Accused of War Crimes in South Sudan: Civil Society Demands ICC Action

 ‎ UPDF.  A South Sudanese campaign group, the Reclaim Campaign, has submitted a formal request to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate alleged atrocities committed by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) during their incursion into Upper Nile State in March 2025. ‎ ‎The group alleges that the UPDF carried out indiscriminate bombings, used chemical weapons, and targeted civilians particularly from the Nuer ethnic group while operating inside South Sudanese territory without the consent of the transitional government.  ‎ ‎According to the campaign, these actions could constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of aggression under the Rome Statute. ‎ ‎The Reclaim Campaign's petition also claims that the Ugandan government has shown no willingness to hold its military accountable, making a case for the ICC to intervene.  ‎ ‎The group cited statements by Ugandan officials that allegedly dehumanize South Sudanese citizens and promote et...
