President Kiir, Museveni Strengthen Bilateral Ties, Pledge Regional Stability

President Kiir, President Museveni and VP. President Salva Kiir Mayardiit assured, the Norwegian government that he is committed to implement the peace agreement in South Sudan. 


South Sudan president president promised the Norwegian people that, he will implement all the provisions of the peace agreement to pave way for the conduction of the the elections in South Sudan next year 2024.

President Kiir, made his promise while addressing the Norwegian Special Envoy for South Sudan and Sudan Mr. Jon Anton Johnson in Juba, South Sudan. 


Mr. Jon Anton Johnson, the Norwegian Special Envoy for South Sudan and Sudan said that, they have discussed the challenges facing South Sudan and the region.

Jon added that the meeting as well touched on the big events, including the elections in 2024, as stipulated in the peace accord, to allow South Sudanese choose leaders of their choice.


Foreign Minister Dr. James Pitia Morgan said the government would in the coming days establish the electoral institutions to prepare the country for the polls.

The meeting also discussed the crisis in Sudan and other regional matters of concern.
