Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. Agwelek faction forces led by Gen. Johnson Olony and the government have formed a committee to speed up the integration of agwelek fighters into the army. 


Gen. Johnson Olony, while addressing the shilluk community during the implementation of the Kit-Kuang declaration in juba on Tuesday yesterday said that, Shilluk intellectuals and the community to be patient with the delay in the implementation of the agreement.

On 17th January 2023, Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual SPLM-IO's  faction and Kit-Kuang faction signed the peace agreement in Khartoum, Sudan. 


However, Gen. Johnson Olony and Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual had a disagreement over the implementation of the peace agreement process.

While addressing the Shilluk community, Gen. Olony said that, the implementation of the agreement with the government will be concluded before December 2023.

Girl In Yirol Beaten To Death For Refusing To Marry

Yirol people today and South Sudan at large are saddened by the news of a 20 year old girl who was beaten to death for refusing to marry a suitor that had been arranged by the parents.   Taban Abel, Minister of Information in Eastern Lakes, told Radio Tamazuj Friday parents forced the girl to marry a man who offered 40 cows to the family as dowry. The State Information Minister Mr Taban Abel confirmed that the parents of the deceased girl forced her to marry a man who tabled an offer 50 cows as a dowry to the family.   After the girl rejected the suitor this forced his own brothers to beat him as a form of disciplining.   In his own words he said that “The father was one who ordered people to kill his daughter because she refused to get married. Authorities of South Sudan’s Western Lakes State have banned the possession of illegal firearms in the state. Western Lakes States Authorities today banned the civilians from possessing Illegal firearms in the state.   The banned came after series of unprecedented murder cases in the state deeming the insecure  Western Lakes State Governor said that “I, Major general, Mahmoud Solomon Deer Agok, governor of Western Lakes State do hereby issue this order for the banning of illegal armed person movement within the headquarters of all the eleven (11) Counties of Western Lakes State.” The order will not implemented fully minus the support of the armed forces so the governor is calling on all the armed forces in his state to help implement his order.   Citizens of Western Lakes State are happy with the order since they will be able to carry out their daily activities minus fear of unknown gunmen.   South Sudanese what do you think of this brave move by Western Lakes State Gov
