THE PRISON DIARY --- on four different nights as captured in my diary, the main door of the security prison was opened and the guards called out inmates of their target, one at a time.
Whenever we heard a reverberating rumbling noise of the main prison door, all inmates got scared. Previous tales of this torture chamber started lingering on every inmate’s mind – remember talks of prisoners being taken out from the cell and strangled at night in Luri, the case of Dong Samuel and Aggrey Idri! But due to severe economic hardships in the country, rogue security personnel have turned this “valley of Hinnom” into a cash cow.

Night shift is the turn for hungry guards on duty including senior security officers working at the Blue House to eat. They need money from caged citizens to fuel their V8s and lifestyles in Juba!
These scammers in uniform have deployed various tricks to extort money from dehumanised, starved anf deoxygenated prisoners in the jail.

Some NS guards would come as agents and messengers of city witches claiming to perform some magical powers and spiritually induce immediate release of a prisoner from the detention in exchange of favor, others are asked to pay money to be escorted out for “engine oil” change as mentioned in the previous diary and above all, some rich inmates pay short time to breath fresh air in the compound of the National Security Facility at night – this will be explained in a separate diary.
On one particular night (details in the book), an ugly tall brawny black man with missing lower teeth and well-marked forehead came to the prison.

He ordered the guard on duty to call me out for him. The man said he has gotten solution to my case. He told me a certain inmate, a soldier from the national security who was with us in prison but freed has informed him about me.
This man said he met a highly respected magician in Juba and he has a verified spiritual message for me. He said a necromancer known by his nom de guerre Mia Mia is ready to help me get out of the prison within 48 hours.

According to him, the whole process needs 150,000 SSP. The man told me not be worried about contacts because I can be escorted out at night to where I will get the money for the satanic deal.
These guys have mastered the art of marketing their scamming craft --- they got serious taglines for selling their crafts. Imagine he said Mr. Mia Mia has helped many leaders in the past, citing that he is the person who helped Salva Kiir survived the 1993 plane crash in Kenya.

He said late leader John Garang De Mabior, late Dominc Dim, late Justin Yaac Arop failed to obey most of his advice and never cooperate hence ending up meeting their death in those tragic air accidents.
Well, this Mia Mia’s messenger is a captain in the national security under the department of operation.
He showed me his identity to create rapport and to win my heart for a possible deal. He told me the payment of 150, 000 SSP would be used to cater for the sorcery.

In that money, a black chicken will be bought and slaughtered in my presence at night right in the compound of the security prison and my whole body would be smeared with blood.
This NS officer said Mr. Mia Mia himself will perform the ritual. At the same night, three other inmates were also being engaged in the deal. I turned down the offer and was aggressively escorted back to the cell with lashes and kicks hitting me on the back.
Apart from the fact that I knew the case I was linked to was purely a set-up, hardships in this prison have brought me closer to God than ever and even when I was outside the prison, I got limited knowledge of such secret worlds of Mia Mias. I grew up in a Christian family!
When our cells were opened the next day for daily routines, I shared my encounter with other inmates inside the ground prison and most of them confessed having been talked to about that magician and several other Gudele witches who have agents inside the national security for inmates or anyone who need worldly spiritual backing for luck and more.

One inmate who paid money almost a year ago is still sweating and languishing in NS jail. Another prisoner said he sold his piece of land, paid the magician and was smeared with the blood of a big black cock which was slaughtered in the facility.
He said he was told not to bath for three days, which he did for even a month but nothing happened.
In a separate incident, an NS soldier who was arrested in Yambio and brought to the Blue House for stealing few grams of looted gold from DR Congo meant for his boss started scamming inmates.
His name is Sgt. Majok. This gentleman is in prison but he was busy convincing some inmates that he can secure their freedom.
He sent a note to my media colleagues who were locked up with me but in the upper part of the facility.
He requested the guys to raise up to 100, 000 SSP to pay a magician to spiritually conjure their release. Majok said he got a popular magician in Western Equatoria who can undo any case and even what god cannot.
My colleagues Victor and Jacob happened to be spiritually dedicated pastors in their respective churches, way even before they were locked up in the National Security Prison.
They are journalists who have been wearing permanent religious hats almost their entire lives. We all laughed away the magical tricks and calls from the wicked world! “If Majok can do it for others, why can’t he do it for himself?” asked another prisoner.
