Governor Rabi Mujung Dismisses Juba City Mayor, Appoints New Leadership Team

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit, in his capacity as Chairman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), convened a high-level meeting with senior party officials on Friday to review the current political climate and outline a fresh roadmap to strengthen the party’s influence ahead of the anticipated elections.
The meeting brought together top SPLM figures, including:
1. Secretary General Prof. Paul Logale Jumi,
2. First Deputy Chairman Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel,
3. Second Deputy Secretary General for Administration and Finance Baba Medan Kalonyeli.
According to Prof. Logale, discussions focused on revitalizing the party’s structures, enhancing unity among members, and aligning the SPLM’s political, economic, and social agenda with the country’s broader development goals.
He reaffirmed the leadership’s commitment to fostering party cohesion and advancing national progress for the well-being of the South Sudanese people.
The SPLM, which has led South Sudan since independence, continues to position itself as a central pillar in the country’s peace and development process.
