Lual, a member of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee, said the forced expulsion of over 100 women from Khartoum and Omdurman leaving behind 61 of their children violates both humanitarian and international human rights norms.

‎“Law and humanity stand above all politics,” the MP stressed, urging the Sudanese authorities to protect South Sudanese nationals and allow a safe and dignified return for those who wish to come home.

‎He further appealed to the Government of South Sudan to reinforce its embassy in Khartoum with adequate consular support to assist stranded citizens and coordinate with Sudanese officials to reunite families separated by the deportations.

According to reports from Radio Tamazuj and Eye Radio, the women were expelled in early October and left at the Joda border, while dozens of their children remained in Sudan.

‎Local authorities in Renk County, Upper Nile State, and several civil society organizations have denounced the incident, calling it a grave violation of humanitarian principles.

Lual emphasized that renewed dialogue between Juba and Khartoum should prioritize citizen protection, human dignity, and family reunification, rather than political or diplomatic disputes.

‎“The suffering of these women and children must not be ignored. Governments on both sides must act swiftly to correct this injustice,” he added.
