Uppernile State Governor Hon. Dollar Ruot.  ‎Upper Nile State Governor Dollar Ruot has announced the temporary relocation of his office to Nasir County as part of a new strategy to foster peace and strengthen community relations in the state. ‎ ‎Speaking after a high-level briefing with Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, Governor Ruot said his decision aims to enhance direct engagement with local communities in Nasir and Ulang, areas that have faced persistent insecurity and intercommunal tensions. ‎ ‎“Lasting peace comes through dialogue and presence on the ground. President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Tuesday received a detailed briefing from Central Equatoria State Governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, on the prevailing security and governance situation across the state.

Governor Rabi reported that the overall security condition remains largely calm, with only a few isolated incidents of instability in parts of Greater Yei, where rebel forces have attempted to disrupt community life.


He expressed appreciation to the national government for maintaining stability along the Kajokeji border and addressing cross-border tensions that have previously threatened peace in the area.

According to Rabi, his administration has also organized a major peace and reconciliation forum in Terekeka County to promote unity, peaceful coexistence, and dialogue among communities.


The Governor reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace, improved governance, and strengthened cooperation between the state and the national authorities.

‎JUBA – South Sudan  ‎ ‎President Salva Kiir Mayardit has reportedly directed the immediate withdrawal of Ugandan People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) troops from South Sudan, but Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has insisted his soldiers will not leave until outstanding payments owed by the government of South Sudan are settled in full. ‎ ‎According to reliable sources within the security establishment, the Ugandan forces estimated at over 5,000 soldiers were initially deployed in South Sudan under a private arrangement facilitated by businessman and Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, reportedly to support government operations in key conflict zones. ‎However, the partnership has now hit a financial deadlock as huge arrears continue to accumulate.
