South Sudan’s Caretaker Minister of Presidential Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima, has held talks with Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Delil Kedir Bushra, on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on diplomatic relations and cooperation, with the two officials also exchanging views on the current situation in South Sudan, Ethiopia and the wider region. Ambassador Delil Kedir said the discussions provided an opportunity to share perspectives on regional developments and matters of mutual interest. PRESIDENT KIIR BRIEFED ON SECURITY AND GOVERNANCE IN CENTRAL EQUATORIA

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Tuesday received a detailed briefing from Central Equatoria State Governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, on the prevailing security and governance situation across the state.

Governor Rabi reported that the overall security condition remains largely calm, with only a few isolated incidents of instability in parts of Greater Yei, where rebel forces have attempted to disrupt community life.


He expressed appreciation to the national government for maintaining stability along the Kajokeji border and addressing cross-border tensions that have previously threatened peace in the area.

According to Rabi, his administration has also organized a major peace and reconciliation forum in Terekeka County to promote unity, peaceful coexistence, and dialogue among communities.


The Governor reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace, improved governance, and strengthened cooperation between the state and the national authorities.
