President Kiir Met With His Four Deputies To Discuss Range Of Issues Affecting South Sudan

South Sudan President met with his four deputies to discuss issues affecting the country ranging from border issues, NUF deployment and sanitation. 

The meeting was chaired by President Kiir himself and was attended by Vice President Taban Deng Gai, Rebecca Nyandeng and Hussein Abdelbagi. 

National Security Affairs Advisor, Tut Gatluak and Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel were also in attendance.

According to the press office of the president Kiir said that, the leadership of South Sudan is under scrutiny and there is need to deploy the Unified forces. 

The meeting also tackle the recent bloodsheds at Nadapal border between the Turkana of Kenya and Toposa of South Sudan which they termed it as the “recent activities of encroachment of Kenya forces in Nadapal.”

The statement from the press office stated that: “The Presidency condemned subnational violence in most of the part of the country, especially the Kajo-Keji incident, and repeated the order to the cattle keepers to return back their cattle to their place of origin and emphasised the deployment of police in the area.” 

The statement mentioned need to deploy the Unified forces to the other parts of South Sudan respectively. 

On the current border issue at Nadapal between Kenya and South Sudan, the president opted to send delegate to mediate and find an amicable solution to the violence. 

The meeting between the president and his deputies also talked about: “The Presidency also discussed cleaning of the White Nile River, starting from Bentiu to Lake No and Bentiu to Nam River in Bahr El Ghazal.”
