President Salva Kiir Mayardiit Briefed on Primary School Examination Results: A Step Forward for South Sudan’s Education ‎

General Education Minister and President Salva Kiir.  ‎President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has been briefed by the Ministry of General Education and Instruction on the latest Primary School Examination results an important step in assessing the progress of South Sudan’s education system. ‎ ‎The official release of the results is expected next week, but early insights shared during the briefing paint a mixed picture. On the one hand, there’s reason for optimism.  ‎ ‎The Ministry reported improved performance in literacy and numeracy in areas like Central Equatoria, Western Bahr el Ghazal, and parts of Upper Nile.  These gains reflect recent efforts to strengthen the education sector and expand access to quality learning opportunities. ‎ ‎However, the challenges remain significant. Widowed Wife Of our late founder Dr.John Garang, she is also the Vice President For Gender and Youths said that her husband lost his life in vain during the struggle of liberating South Sudan. 

She was addressing the country at the All Saints Cathedral in Juba during a sermon presided by the Archbishop Of Canterbury Justin Welby, is in the country on an ecumenical visit with Pope Francis and the Moderator Of Scotland. 

Madam Vice President termed the ecumenical visit happened at the time when ' the country was bleeding'. 

She said that: "My condolences to those who lost their lives in Kajo Keji, being the cattle herders and the residents of Kajo Keji," Madam Nyandeng said.

She further added by saying: "My heart is broken and I am sure if it was not for this country, Dr. John would not have died. But he died for you. But the way his people are dying now, he died in vain. Change your hearts." 

She acknowledge the failure of the government to protect and provide for the people of South Sudan. She instead urged the Church to Pray for the people of South Sudan. 

'Our hearts and minds are filled with bitterness. Pray for us for forgiveness so that we can open a new page." she said

"I want you to pray for political will so that we as the leadership accept one another because if we accept one another we will not be working as parties but as one government and serving one people." 

She accused the leaders of enriching themselves instead of serving the people of South Sudan. 

"Let us stop divisions, let us stop the bitterness in our hearts. We are one people, God created us in his own image."
