‎UN, RJMEC Raise Alarm Over Stalled Peace Deal in South Sudan

‎International bodies are sounding the alarm as South Sudan's fragile peace process teeters on the edge of collapse. The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) have warned of deepening divisions, rising insecurity, and stalled implementation of the 2018 peace deal. ‎ ‎A Dangerous Breakdown in Peace ‎The 2018 Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) brought hope to a nation shattered by civil war. But that hope is now dimming. ‎In a briefing to the UN Security Council, Guang Cong, the Deputy Head of UNMISS, revealed that over 130,000 people have been displaced in recent months due to a surge in armed violence particularly in Upper Nile and Greater Pibor.  ‎The increase in military activity and the escalation of localized conflicts have disrupted humanitarian access and eroded confidence between the signatories of the peace agreement. ‎“These are not just isolated ...

Commotions and Chaos After A Man Showed Up At His Own Burial

There was drama at Itakaibolu Village in Kaliro District Uganda when a man showed up at what was supposed to be his burial.

Mr. Asadi Ndekeire arrived at his village where he found mourners gathered at a burial site, he and his drunk friends sat at the back seat behind the tent erected by the mourners. 

Mr. Ndekeire waited till the coffin was being lowered to the grave then they staggered to the grave side to also send off the deceased by pouring soil into the grave. 

"He was a good man who made everyone laugh outside,But inside the home, he was a weak man who was always crying like a baby because his fat wife pounded him like traditional cassava." Ndekeire said.

The locals standing and mourning next to him heard the voice and they grew suspicious since the voice is familiar with that one of the deceased. 

Women and everybody starting screaming and running Helter skelter for their dear lives. Mr. Ndekeire also sobered up and took off at a lightning speed. It took alot of vigilant to track him and bring him back to the village. 

Mr. Ndekeire family narrated their part of the story by saying, Ndekeire had been missing for almost a week and it was alleged that a sugarcane truck hit and killed a man on spot near a bar that Ndekeire frequents. His face was totally crushed and the relative recognize a grey sweater at the mortuary, they concluded it was him. 

Ndekeire said he had been abducted by some people he owed money.

The big question being asked by the mourners was whose remains was that they had already interred into the grave?
