‎Hope for Change: Kiir and VIce President Nyandeng Discuss Peace, Roads, and Neighbors ‎

‎President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today met with Vice President Rebecca Nyandeng at the State House in Juba.  

‎During the meeting, Vice President Nyandeng briefed President Kiir on her recent official visit to Uganda, where she held discussions with President Yoweri Museveni. 

‎According to a statement from the Office of the President, their discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations between South Sudan and Uganda and promoting peace in the region.  

‎They also addressed key national issues, including the current political and economic developments in South Sudan. 

‎President Kiir and Vice President Nyandeng reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, and development in South Sudan.  

‎They emphasized the importance of cooperation among leaders and citizens to advance the country's progress and strengthen its relations with neighboring countries.  

‎This high-level engagement comes amid ongoing efforts to bolster regional integration and economic development.  Notably, South Sudan, Uganda, and the Central African Republic recently signed a historic agreement to jointly fund the construction of a 1,100-kilometre trade road network, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.  

‎Vice President Nyandeng, a prominent South Sudanese politician and widow of the late John Garang, has been instrumental in advocating for peace and unity in the country.  

‎Her recent diplomatic engagement with Uganda underscores South Sudan's commitment to fostering strong bilateral relations and regional cooperation. 

‎The meeting between President Kiir and Vice President Nyandeng highlights the leadership's dedication to addressing national challenges and promoting stability through collaborative efforts with neighboring countries.
