Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. President Salva Witnesses the signing of MOU with a Chinese company to construct Nimule dry port

Today president Salva KIIR Mayardiit, witnessed the signing of an agreement between South Sudan and a Chinese company. 


The agreement in principle will guarantee rights to the Chinese Construction Company to construct Nimule dry port. 


The Dry port, will provide services for handing temporary storage containers that enters or leave the dry port by any mode of transportation. 


The company will also build a presidential terminal at Juba International Airport, Apron project and an air traffic management system project.


Speaking at the signing ceremony, President Kiir praised the Chinese Government for supporting South Sudan's development agenda.


For his part, China Communications Construction Company Chairman Wang Tongzhou said China is determined to expand bilateral cooperation with South Sudan in trade, investment and infrastructure development.


Officials say the construction of the Nimule dry port will help reduce transportation costs and ease trade in the area. 


South Sudan and China have cordial diplomatic relations as well as trade and infrastructure ties.
