Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. President Salva Kiir swears in the new deputy governor of Warrap State

President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today on Friday presided over the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Warrap State Hon. Aluel Garang. 


During the swearing in ceremony, president Salva Kiir Mayardiit directed Hon. Aluel Deng to work hand in hand with her colleagues in her respectful State and also serve the people of Warrap. 


Warrap State Governor Hon. Manhiem Bol Malek also appealed to Aluel's party which OPP 'Other Political Parties to support her as she performs her duties in the state. 


Peter Mayen Majongdit who is the leader of the opposition consortium known as Other Political Parties, OPP,  pledged to support the new deputy Governor to enable her to deliver her mandate.


Following the oath taking ceremony, Aluel Garang said she will do her best to work for the protection and provision of services to the people of Warrap State.


Aluel Garang was appointed on 28th July this year, replacing Deborah Odul who is now a member of the National Assembly.

A Sudanese Arabic newspaper is reporting that Riek Machar has hired Janjaweed as his bodyguards for his return to South Sudan. The Janjaweed have been renamed “Rapid Support Forces” and helped to suppressed the Sudanese protestors who toppled Bashir. Dr Riek who is currently in Khartoum will be accompanied by Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Janjaweed who is currently part of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council. The newspaper Al-Intibaha quoting unnamed sources in the Government of South Sudan reported that Riek will return to South Sudan next month to meet with President Kiir. The paper did not specify the date of the meeting.
