Nineteen '19' year old woman committed suicide in Lakes State, Rumbek East County

  The local police of Lakes State confirmed that a 19 year old woman committed suicide in the County of Rumbek East in the village of Meen-Wal and the police withheld the deceased name for unknown reason.  This is not the first time for the young girls to commit suicide in the State, the first case was reported to the authorities  two days ago after a young girl committed suicide in Wulu County.  While speaking to the Media, Police Spokesperson Maj. Elijah Mabor Makwach said that, the police are conducting thorough investigation on why there is a rampant rise of suicide amongst girls in Lakes State.  “We have recorded several cases of suicide with the most recent being a 19-year-old girl who committed a suicide in Meen-wal village in Rumbek East County and the investigation is still ongoing to identify the cause of the suicide because the cases are rising. President Salva Kiir swears in the new deputy governor of Warrap State

President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today on Friday presided over the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Warrap State Hon. Aluel Garang. 


During the swearing in ceremony, president Salva Kiir Mayardiit directed Hon. Aluel Deng to work hand in hand with her colleagues in her respectful State and also serve the people of Warrap. 


Warrap State Governor Hon. Manhiem Bol Malek also appealed to Aluel's party which OPP 'Other Political Parties to support her as she performs her duties in the state. 


Peter Mayen Majongdit who is the leader of the opposition consortium known as Other Political Parties, OPP,  pledged to support the new deputy Governor to enable her to deliver her mandate.


Following the oath taking ceremony, Aluel Garang said she will do her best to work for the protection and provision of services to the people of Warrap State.


Aluel Garang was appointed on 28th July this year, replacing Deborah Odul who is now a member of the National Assembly.

Illegal Firearms Possession Banned In Western Lakes State By The Authorities

Authorities of South Sudan’s Western Lakes State have banned the possession of illegal firearms in the state. Western Lakes States Authorities today banned the civilians from possessing Illegal firearms in the state.   The banned came after series of unprecedented murder cases in the state deeming the insecure  Western Lakes State Governor said that “I, Major general, Mahmoud Solomon Deer Agok, governor of Western Lakes State do hereby issue this order for the banning of illegal armed person movement within the headquarters of all the eleven (11) Counties of Western Lakes State.” The order will not implemented fully minus the support of the armed forces so the governor is calling on all the armed forces in his state to help implement his order.   Citizens of Western Lakes State are happy with the order since they will be able to carry out their daily activities minus fear of unknown gunmen.   South Sudanese what do you think of this brave move by Western Lakes State Gov

Eight (8) SSPDF Soldiers Killed In An Ambush In Gok State

Eight (8) South Sudan People Defense Force have been killed in an ambush attack by the youths of Gok State.   Hon. John Madol State Minister of Information said that the State Authorities dispatched 26 soldiers to retried some cattle as a compensation for a man that was recently murdered in the area. Here is the full statement of Hon. Madol “What happened was that on the 31st of August 2019 about 26 soldiers from South Sudan Defense Forces were authorized to go and bring cattle for compensation of a person who has been killed earlier in Gok State. So when the forces went under the directives of the commanding officer, they fell into an ambush of the cattle keeper’s armed youth.” So in total the people killed are ten which means eight from the SSPDF and two from the armed youths.  More to come shortly....
