President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today on Wednesday received a report from the Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, Hon. Tong Akeen Ngor on the general situation in the State. 


Governor Tong said that the security situation in his State was stable, but raised an alarm on the influx of  returnees and refugees fleeing the Sudanese Conflict


Tong added that they have transported a number of returnees from Renk to Aweil through Wau.


On the issues affecting Agriculture Sector, the Governor said farmers in the State are busy in their farms in response to the call to increase food  production in a bid to alleviate hunger.


Northern BAHR El Ghazal State is among the states in South Sudan. It has an area of 30,543 km² and is part of the Bahr el Ghazal region.


The State also borders East Darfur in Sudan to the north, Western Bahr el Ghazal to the west and south, and Warrap and the disputed region of Abyei to the east. Aweil is the capital of the state.
