Police Officer Shot Dead, Gun Stolen While Guarding KCSE Exam Papers in Turkana ‎

Turkana County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi. ‎A police officer was shot dead in cold blood on Monday morning while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers in Turkana County.  ‎ The tragic incident occurred at Kang’atotha area, Turkana Central, where officers had been deployed to provide security during the ongoing national examinations. ‎ ‎According to police reports, the slain officer was part of a team assigned to escort and guard examination materials at a local school. Witnesses said the attack happened shortly after dawn when unknown assailants ambushed the officer. His firearm, a G3 rifle, was stolen after the shooting. ‎ ‎Turkana County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying the assailants struck before other officers at the examination center could respond. “We lost one of our officers this morning while he was on official duty securing KCSE exam materials. Central Equatoria Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has briefed President Kiir on the State Government's endeavor to improve farming through investment


On Tuesday, the Governor reported to the President about his recent investment tour to the Middle East and Turkey, where he wooed entrepreneurs to come and invest in Central Equatoria State.


Governor Adil said the State government has distributed a number of tractors to the counties as "a significant development aimed at strengthening agricultural production and enhance food security in the country".


While in the Middle East, Governor Adil said he explored potential partnerships with investors in the agricultural sector to increase food production, hence  eradicate hunger in the country. 


He also presented a report about the situation in the state, and the preparedness for the upcoming general elections.


The Governor said Equatoria region is ready to hold the  SPLM rally for the endorsement of President Kiir as the flag bearer of SPLM party for 2024 General elections.
